Categories of Work. The work most often performed under this plan is Emergency Work. This work is performed immediately to save lives, to protect property, for public health and safety, and/or to avert or lessen the threat of a major disaster. Emergency Work contains two categories: Debris Clearance (Category A) and Protective Measures (Category B). It is possible that certain types of claims may be made under Permanent Work categories. For example, certain damages or losses of facilities and equipment may fall into the Permanent Work categories.

Categories of Work. When new types of equipment or categories of work for which rates of pay are not established by this Agreement are put into use or effect, rates governing such operations shall be subject to negotiations between the parties. In the event of failure to reach agreement on such rates, the question shall be referred to arbitration within thirty (30) days of the date of failure to reach such an agreement and the rates, as determined, shall apply from the first day the equipment or categories of work were put into use or effect.

Categories of Work. (a) Unless otherwise mutually agreed to between the Company and the Union there shall be the following designated categories of work: (i) Scheduled Service including half-trips, Duties and Sightseeing Tours (ii) Standby Work and On Call (iii) Charter Work (b) These categories of work must be clearly designated on a daily work board which must also be posted on a daily basis for all drivers to see. (c) The posting must indicate all work available in each category for the following day (or days) on which drivers may sign according to seniority for the following day’s work only. (d) Where possible and operationally viable, the daily work board will also be sent to e-mail addresses for those drivers who request such a posting. (e) Half-trips are defined as a one-way trip on a scheduled service that does not have a designated return time. All half-trips are considered scheduled work and shall be governed by the overtime rules under D7.01 of this Collective Agreement.

Categories of Work. Pre-qualified contractors must be listed in the City of Houston’s Office of Business Opportunity directory of certified companies as a Small Business Enterprise (“SBE”), Minority Business Enterprise (“MBE”), or a Women Business Enterprise (“WBE”). The SBE, MBE, or WBE certification must be for a category in either Xxxxxx 00 or Xxxxxx 00 of the North American Industry Classification System (“NAICS”). Pre-qualified contractors in the Program will perform work in designated categories, which includes asphalt repair, concrete panel replacement, curb and gutter repair, ADA wheelchair ramps, sidewalk repairs, point repairs, restorations, small diameter waterline repairs and other related work.
