Certified Worker. The Employer shall recognize one (1) ONA member as a certified worker pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. At the Employer’s expense, the Employer will provide certification training under the Occupational Health and Safety Act for one (1) ONA member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

Certified Worker. The Employer accepts that one (l) CUPE member covering this Collective Agreement who is to serve on the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee will be selected among those to be trained as a certified worker under the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Any costs associated with the initial training of a certified worker will be paid by the Employer, or as may be prescribed pursuant to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Certified Worker. (a) When a certified worker is called in to work by the employer to perform his/her duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, he/she shall be paid at the applicable rate as indicated in the Collective Agreement. (b) There shall be one Health and Safety representative from CUPE who will be a certified worker as defined under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. This would not preclude the Employer from having more than one certified worker. (c) The CUPE certified worker shall be trained at the Employer’s expense. (d) CUPE’s representatives to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee shall be given paid preparation time as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act to prepare for each meeting of the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
