Changes in Normal Workweek and Workday. The shifts, workdays and hours to which employees are assigned shall be stated on a monthly work schedule. Should it be necessary, in the interest of efficient operations, to establish schedules departing from the normal workday or workweek, the District shall give notice of such change to the affected bargaining unit employee as far in advance as is reasonably practical, but not less than five (5) business days prior to the effective date of said change, except in emergency situations. For the purpose of this Article, emergency is defined as something not reasonably foreseeable. Employees shall be notified in writing prior to any schedule change. If the District does not provide notice to an employee, in accordance with this Section, the District shall, upon request, immediately reverse the schedule of the employee. Any employee who is called in to work on a day they were not previously scheduled to work shall receive a minimum of two (2) hours pay at the rate the employee receives when called in. When there is an open schedule available, the bargaining unit members within corresponding job titles at that location with the present ability to perform the job have the right to request in writing a change of schedule as soon as the open schedule becomes available. The request will be considered and offered to the bargaining unit member based on present ability, and/or seniority. Scheduling requests under this section shall not be unreasonably denied. The bargaining unit member that is not granted the open schedule will be given written notice upon a decision. a. The District and the Union agree that they will continue discussions regarding the scheduling of employees for special events through Labor-Management meetings.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Normal Work Week The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours, and the normal daily hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours, exclusive of a meal period. The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
