COLLEGE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. Faculty Members who participate in the College in the High School Program administered by Whatcom Community College shall follow the rules and guidelines as outlined in the procedure. Changes in procedure must be mutually agreed upon by the Faculty Union and Administration.

COLLEGE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. College in the High School (CHS) (CiHS) is a dual credit program located on a high 16 school campus or in a high school environment in which a high school student is able to earn both high school 17 and postsecondary credit. This does not refer to Career Technical Education dual credit. Decisions to 18 participate will be made at the department level and the following will be incorporated: 20 1) The college provides a mentor (a college AEe who is a subject matter expert in the discipline being 21 taught at the high school) to work with the CHS CiHS instructor on matters specific, but not limited to 22 course curriculum, assessment criteria, pedagogy, course philosophy, and appropriate rigor to meet DRAFT 23 the learning outcomes of the college course. Mentors will meet have an initial meeting with the CHS 24 CiHS instructor prior to the beginning of the class and meet with the CiHS instructor no fewer than 25 twice throughout the duration of the class during a high school semester and schedule at least one 26 classroom observation. 27 2) Although college mentors do not teach the CHS course CiHS class, they are the listed instructor of 28 record who oversees quality assurance. The CiHS instructor will submit grades to the mentor, who 29 will and will assist the CHS instructor to submit student grades at the college. 30 3) Concurrent enrollment courses offered in the high school are the equivalent to courses offered on- 31 campus at the sponsoring college. 32 4) Students enrolled in concurrent enrollment courses are held to the same standards of achievement, 33 which include the same prerequisite requirements and grading standards, as students in on-campus 34 courses. 35 5) The Northwest Commission on College and Universities states, “Faculty with teaching responsibilities 36 take collective responsibility for fostering and assessing student achievement of clearly identified 37 learning outcomes.” Therefore, CCS AEes are solely responsible for curriculum and learning 38 outcomes. 39 6) Professional Development activities including discipline-specific training for AEe’s participating in 45 7) Instructors teaching college courses through the concurrent enrollment program must meet the 46 academic department’s requirements for teaching college courses. 47 8) Annually contracted and adjunct AEes at CCS are eligible to teach as well as mentor College in High
COLLEGE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. A. Any qualified full or part-time EvCC faculty member in the discipline in which opportunities exist may be appointed by their academic xxxx to serve as a faculty mentor for instructors in the College in the High School Program. B. High school instructors seeking to become instructors for the College in the High School program must follow the application procedures outlined in the College in the High School MOU, which can be found on the intranet. C. Job duties and compensation details for both Instructor and Mentor Positions can be found in the College in the High School MOU, which can be found on the intranet. D. $10.00 from each student enrolled in a five-credit (prorated) College in the High School class will be directed to the EvCC Faculty Professional Development fund to be available to all faculty.
COLLEGE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. Faculty from disciplines that offer four-year transferable courses may be asked to serve as College in the High School liaisons. Disciplines that offer four-year transferable courses will offer a minimum of one (1) to three (3) SVC courses for College in the High School articulation and implementation. CiHS courses will be courses offered in the first 2-3 quarters of the appropriate program/department degree map and/or general non-major courses that satisfy a distribution requirement. Additional courses beyond these guidelines, including courses beyond a minimum of (1) to there (3) SVC courses per discipline, may be offered and articulated by mutual agreement between the department chair and the appropriate administrator. may be offered and articulated with mutual agreement between the faculty and the appropriate administrator. Existing College in the High School course articulations listed in the 2021- 2022 College in the High School Student Handbook Appendix B will not be affected by 5.1.4 and will continue to be offered.
COLLEGE IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. Upon request from the Director of Dual Credit Programs (or appropriate administrator) the CiHS Faculty Coordinator will identify faculty with appropriate disciplinary and teaching experience to serve as CiHS Liaisons. In cases where multiple faculty are interested in serving, the relevant instructional xxxx will assign the liaison role in consultation with the department chair and CiHS Faculty Coordinator. The order of assignment will be: • tenured faculty • tenure-track faculty in 2nd or 3rd year • full-time temporary, • senior associate faculty • Associate faculty (step C, B, and A) who have taught the course a minimum of three times at SVC and have at least 45 FCU of SVC teaching experience. In the event there are no faculty interested in serving as a liaison, the instructional xxxx, in consultation with the Department Chair and CiHS Faculty Coordinator, will assign the liaison role to a tenured, tenure-track (2nd- 3rd year) or FT temporary faculty with the requisite disciplinary degrees and expertise. Faculty will not be required to serve as liaison for more than three CiHS sections per year. College in the High School Liaisons will receive a stipend or equivalent load FCU as explained in Appendix A.

  • COLLEGE has the sole right to control and direct the instructional activities of all instructors, including those who are SCHOOL DISTRICT employees.

  • University Any notice may be served upon the University by delivering it, in writing, to the University at the address set forth on the last page of this Agreement, by depositing it in a United States Postal Service deposit box with the postage fully prepaid and with the notice addressed to the University at the aforementioned address, or by sending a facsimile of it to the University facsimile number set forth on the last page of this Agreement.

  • High School At the request of the Superintendent, a high school teacher may volunteer on a semester basis to teach all the student contact time and be paid one sixth (1/6) of his/her salary for the semester. This section shall not be used to circumvent the hiring of additional full time teachers.

  • CHANGE IN THE ADVISER'S OWNERSHIP The Sub-Adviser agrees that it shall notify the Trust of any anticipated or otherwise reasonably foreseeable change in the ownership of the Sub-Adviser within a reasonable time prior to such change being effected.

  • Iowa CANCELLATION section is amended as follows: A ten percent (10%) penalty per month shall be applied to refunds not paid or credited within thirty (30) days of receipt of returned Service Agreement.
