Default Enrollment. 16 1. New full-time employees who fail to submit a timely application to 17 Opt-Out or enroll into the medical and dental benefit plans described in Section A will 18 be enrolled by default in the County’s Major Medical PPO plan and Delta Dental plan, 19 with employee only coverage. Eligible dependents of such employees may be 20 enrolled in the default plans if the employee submits application requesting 21 dependent enrollment within fifteen (15) days of date default enrollment notice is 22 issued. 23 2. New part-time employees who fail to submit a timely application 24 to Opt-Out or enroll into the medical and dental benefits plans described in Section A 25 above will be enrolled by default in the County’s Major Medical plan, with employee 26 only coverage. Default Enrollment. The DEPARTMENT shall, on a rotating basis among all of the participating MCO's and as the MCO's enrollment capacity allows, assign default Members to the MCO. The default assignment methodology is structured to evenly distribute families among all the participating MCOs. However, due to variability in MCO service area and enrollment capacity, family size and loss of Medicaid eligibility, the outcome of the default assignment may not result in an even net default distribution among all the MCOs.

Default Enrollment. An enrollment process that allows a Medicare Advantage (MA) organization, following approval by the state and CMS, to enroll – unless the Member chooses otherwise – a Member of an affiliated MassHealth health plan into its Medicare Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) when that Member becomes newly eligible for Medicare. This process is only permissible in circumstances where the Member enrolls with the SCO plan offered by their MassHealth health plan upon receiving Medicare eligibility. The only default enrollment effective date possible is the date an individual is initially eligible for Medicare (i.e., when an individual has both Medicare Part A and Part B for the first time).
