Definition of Shifts for Application of Shift Differentials. A shift starting on or after a.m. but before is a first (or day) shift. Employees on the following jobs shall be scheduled on the basis of the normal eight (8) hour shift eight (8) hours of work exclusive of the lunch period whenever required to work on the third shift: Stationary Engineer Jobs in Machine Shop Janitors The followingjobs shall also be scheduled as set forth immediately above, but only at times when the plant has no regular short third shift operation: Machinists Die Makers Millwrights Electronic Technicians Electricians Maintainers performing repair or overhaul work Oiler Greaser Compound Handlers Machine Cleaners Computation of holiday hours and pay and vacation hours and pay shall be made for short third shift employees as though they were working the weekly schedule and at the rates of the regular third shift.
