Definition of Sick Leave. As used in this section, "sick leave" means leave of absence of a Member because of any of the following: (1) illness or injury which renders him incapable of performing the Member's work or duties for the City; (2) the Member's exposure to contagious disease as evidenced by a doctor's certification that this exposure necessitates the Member being on sick leave; and (3) routine medical or dental appointments of the Member.

Definition of Sick Leave. Sick leave shall be defined as the absence of an employee from their regularly assigned duties as a result of the employee’s and/or the employee’s immediate household members’ illness, injury, or disability, and/or the serious illness, injury, or disability of the employee’s mother, father, mother-in-law, or father-in law. Xxxx leave used as a result of an immediate household member’s illness, injury or disability, or the serious illness, injury, or disability of the employee’s mother, father, child, grandchild, mother-in-law, or father-in-law will be limited to seven days. An employee may use up to two (2) days of their sick leave for medically related appointments. Sick leave and worker’s compensation cannot be used at the same time. (Employees undergoing follow-up therapeutic treatment, e.g., chemotherapy, are not limited in their use of sick leave up to their maximum available.) The term household, as used in this Article, shall mean all persons of whatever ages, whether or not related, who habitually reside together in the same household as a group.
