EMPLOYEE LEAVE DONATION PROGRAM. ‌ The purpose of this program is to allow regular employees to voluntarily donate a portion of their accumulated vacation leave hours for use by another regular employee who has suffered a catastrophic illness or injury.

EMPLOYEE LEAVE DONATION PROGRAM a. The County will provide a leave donation program to eligible employees for a catastrophic illness or disability of the employee, their spouse, child, or a person living in the home whom the court has designated the employee as the legal guardian. A catastrophic illness for the purpose of this program will be defined as life threatening and requiring extensive medical care. The employee must be in a leave without pay status for a period of eighty (80) continuous work hours to solicit donated leave. The donated leave may be applied to the eighty (80) hours of leave without pay and any other needed hours as defined in this program. The leave donation program shall be provided under the general guidance of the Human Resources Director. Eligible employees may request or donate leave as described in this policy.
EMPLOYEE LEAVE DONATION PROGRAM a. The Employee Leave Donation Program administers donations of accrued leave (PTO, Compensatory Time and Sick Leave, if applicable) from a donating employee to a recipient employee who either they themselves or an immediate family member as defined in letter b. below have a serious health condition that prevents them from working but do not have any accrued leave.

  • Sick Leave Donation Program A Labor Management Committee will be established for the purpose of proposing rules and procedures for a new, program. The LMC will be to develop consistent, transparent and equitable proposals for processes across all departments within the City. The LMC shall also explore proposals to lower the minimum leave bank required to donate sick leave and permit donation of sick leave upon separation from the City. The LMC must consult with the Office of Civil Rights to ensure compliance with the City’s Race and Social Justice Initiative. Once the LMC has developed its list of proposals, the City and Coalition of City Unions agrees to reopen each contract on this subject.

  • Leave Donation Program Employees may donate paid leave to a fellow employee who is otherwise eligible to accrue and use sick leave and is employed by the same Agency. The intent of the leave donation program is to allow employees to voluntarily provide assistance to their co-workers who are in critical need of leave due to the serious illness or injury of the employee or a member of the employee’s immediate family. The definition of immediate family as provided in rule 123:1-47-01 of the Administrative Code shall apply for the leave donation program.
