Environmental Management Objectives. The goal of improving the management of the customer environment was accomplished by implementing two subsystems: • CCTV • SCADA
1. Develop an integrated platform for remote control and monitoring of CCTV cameras, initially at selected passenger stations. Examples of SCADA objectives are:
1. Support the monitoring and control of station-based devices via a graphical user interface.
2. Provide the capability to monitor and control external equipment/devices. Examples of equipment that might be monitored/controlled are: – Escalators and elevators – Turnstiles – Fire and security alarms – Security doors

5. Provide the capability to filter the device categories displayed on the screen (e.g., the user should be able to toggle on and off the display of turnstiles as appropriate).
6. Present the user with information about the state of the device and the appropriate controls.
7. Provide the System Administrator with the ability to restrict user privileges for monitoring and/or controlling all device categories within different users or user groups.
8. Provide the capability to configure SCADA inputs to trigger a specific response by the PA, CIS, CCTV components or other devices, via the SCADA component of the system. For example, the system could continuously poll/monitor the ‘on/off’ status of an escalator. Upon receipt of an ‘off’ signal, the SCADA system would: – Trigger a nearby CCTV camera to automatically point at the escalator – Issue an alarm on a designated IAP workstation(s)
