Protection of the Public. All necessary precautions to prevent injury to the public or damage to property of others shall be taken. The “Public” is defined as all persons not employed by or under contractor or subcontractor to Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. Installation of temporary barriers and/or fencing designated to protect the Public shall be reviewed and approved by the Owner and/or their representative. Precautions shall include but not be limited to the following:
Protection of the Public. The Contractor shall take every precaution e.g. providing adequate barriers, warning signs and lights etc. to avoid danger to the public or others. The safety measures to be taken by the Contractor shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
Protection of the Public. Any excavations left open during the builder’s holiday or other non-working days shall be adequately safeguarded at all times. Safe trench-crossings shall be provided where necessary. The length of trench left open at any one time may be restricted by the Employer’s Agent, should he consider such restriction to be in the interest of public safety.
Protection of the Public. 18.1 The Contractor shall safeguard the work whilst in progress with sufficient warning notices and with temporary fencing, catch fans, barriers, etc. as necessary to protect the public.
Protection of the Public. The Owner shall effectively warn and protect the public from any damage as a result of Work being done, to the standards required by the Workers' Compensation Board, the B.C. Building Code and any other applicable code, regulation or law.
Protection of the Public. The Waste Disposal Authority shall give due consideration to adjoining owners and occupiers at all times and shall organise activities relating to the Highway Works in such a manner as to cause the least practicable disruption.
Protection of the Public. 4.2.1 The Project Manager shall take all necessary precautions to prevent injury to the public or damage to property of others. The term "public" shall include all persons not engaged in the project or others working under his/her direction. Precautions to be taken shall include, but not limited to, the following:
4.2.1.1 Work shall not be performed in any area occupied by the public unless specified permitted by the contract or in writing by the Project Manager.
4.2.1.2 When it is necessary to maintain public use of work areas involving sidewalks, entrances to buildings, lobbies, corridors, aisles, stairways and vehicular roadways, the Project Manager s shall protect the public with appropriate guardrails, barricades, temporary partition xxxxxxx, and adequate visibility. Such protection shall guard against harmful radioactive rays or particles, flying materials, falling or moving materials and equipment, hot or poisonous materials, explosives and explosive atmospheres, flammable or toxic liquids and gasses, open flames, energized circuits or other harmful exposures.
4.2.1.3 Sidewalks, entrances to buildings, lobbies, corridors, aisles, doors or exits shall be kept clear of obstructions to permit safe ingress and egress of the public at all times.
4.2.1.4 Appropriate warnings, signs, and instructional safety signs shall be conspicuously posted where necessary. In addition, a signal shall control the movement of motorized equipment in areas where the public might be endangered.
4.2.1.5 Sidewalk sheds, canopies, catch platforms and appropriate fences shall be provided when it is necessary to maintain public pedestrian traffic adjacent to the erection, demolition or structural, alteration of outside walls on any structure. The protection required shall be in accordance with the laws and regulations of the regulatory bodies.
4.2.1.6 A temporary fence shall be provided around the perimeter of above ground operations adjacent to public areas except where a sidewalk shed or fence is, if provided by the contract or as required by Subparagraph 5 above. Perimeter fences shall be at least six feet high and/or in compliance wit the laws and regulations of the regulatory bodies involved.
4.2.1.7 Guardrails shall be provided on both sides of vehicular and pedestrian bridges, ramps, runways and platforms. Pedestrian walkways elevated above adjoining surfaces, or walkways within six feet of the top of excavated slopes or vertical banks shall be protected with guardrails, ...

Work shall be sufficiently hoarded and guarded in order to safeguard children and the general public from injury relating to machinery, work or other. Where hoarding, barricades or lighting is required in the execution of the Works, the Contractor shall provide same at his/her own expense. Hoarding, barricades and lighting shall comply with industry accepted norms and standards and may not be used for purposes of advertising or any other purpose than safeguarding the Works. ▪ Employer’s site entry and security control, permits, and site regulations The Contractor must ensure that he/she is, at all times, familiar with ACSA’s safety and security requirements relating to permits in order for work not to be delayed as a result thereof. This will include the permit application process. Note that the Contractor will have no claim against ACSA in the event that a permit request is refused. AVOP – Airside Vehicle Operator permit All drivers of vehicles on airside ACSA Safety Airside Vehicle Permit All vehicles that enter airside ACSA Safety Personal permit (AIT) All persons employed on the airport ACSA Security Cell phone permit All persons taking cell phones to airside ACSA Security Camera permit All persons taking cameras or camera equipment to airside ACSA Security Tool’s permit All persons taking cell tools to airside ACSA Security Proof of having attended the airside induction training course is required for all personal permit applications. Persons applying for an AVOP must provide proof of having attended an AVOP course. Fees are levied for these courses. Fees are further levied for all permit renewals and refresher courses. Note: All vehicles intended to be used on the airside must not be older than 8 years for the duration of the contract per prevailing ACSA policy and procedures. ▪ People restrictions, hours of work, conduct and records Airport operating hours are on average from 04h00 to 24h00, seven (7) days a week. Staffing for this service will be provided between 08:00am and 16:30pm Monday to Friday. The Contractor shall take such steps and precautions as his/her operations warrant to protect the public from danger, loss of life, loss of property or interruption of public services. Unforeseen conditions may arise which will require that immediate provisions be made to protect the public from danger or loss, or damage to life and property, due directly or indirectly to prosecution of work under this contract. Whenever, in the opinion for the Engineer, a condition exists which the Contractor has not taken sufficient precaution of public safety, protection of utilities and/or protection of adjacent structures or property, the Engineer will order the Contractor to provide a remedy for the condition. If the Contractor fails to act on the situation within a reasonable time period as determined by the Engineer, or in the event of an emergency situation, the Engineer may provide suitable protection by causing such work to be done and material to be furnished as, in the opinion of the Engineer, may seem reasonable and necessary. The cost and expense of all repairs (including labor and materials) as are deemed necessary, shall be borne by the Contractor. All expenses incurred by the City for emergency repairs will be deducted from the final payment due to the Contractor.
