Evacuation Drills. A. Each Contractor shall conduct two (2) bus evacuation drills for each route during each school year. These drills shall be conducted during October and March. B. Evacuation drills are to be conducted at the school of destination and are to be supervised and verified by a local school administrator. Where routes to two schools are combined on the same vehicle and double drop-offs are made (i.e. 7:55-8:00 a. m. or 8:55-9:00 a.m.) the Contractor may conduct the evacuation drill only at the first school site when all children are on the vehicle, i.e. 7:55 or 8:55 a.m. C. Completed evacuation drills are to be reported on the form provided by Pupil Transportation Services. Completed reports are to be provided to Pupil Transportation Services within five (5) business days of conducting all the drills. Milwaukee Public Schools and the bus contractors servicing MPS realize the importance of an effective student bus behavior management program. The parties realize that to be effective in addressing student behavior problems, the program must be flexible and adaptive. The district agrees to work through the bus contractor subcommittee annually to evaluate changes to the program that will enhance student behavior on buses and will also review the adequacy of compensation for cost of the program to contractors. The contractors agree to support the district in its efforts. It is understood by bus contractors and MPS that qualitative and statistical data will be gathered by the district through its HEAT program and other sources in an effort to evaluate the effectiveness of the MPS Bus Behavior Management Program. MPS agrees to share this evaluative data with contractors at frequent intervals throughout the school year so that contractors may react to improve upon any perceived problems. Contractors and the district will work through the contractor subcommittee to evaluate the data with the purpose of continual improvement to the program. A. A driver is to report any disruptive rider on a Student Ridership Complaint Form. No form of punishment is allowed. At no time may a rider be evicted from a vehicle. Authorized riders are not to be refused service unless explicitly authorized by MPS. Acts of misconduct considered emergencies by the Contractor or questions regarding ridership should be reported immediately to the Police, Principal and/or Pupil Transportation. X. Evacuation Drills. All regular drivers are to be paid the regular hourly rate for all hours spent due to a bus evacuation drill as scheduled by the Superintendent / designee.
Evacuation Drills. All schools in Indiana are required to have a bus evacuation drill each semester, a tornado drill four times a year, a lock down drill two times a year, and a fire drill monthly. During drills, students should follow the practiced drill pattern as quickly as possible without running. No talking is permitted during the drill. This is important in case of a real emergency so that all students hear the necessary directions.

  • Screening After you sign and date the consent document, you will begin screening. The purpose of the screening is to find out if you meet all of the requirements to take part in the study. Procedures that will be completed during the study (including screening) are described below. If you do not meet the requirements, you will not be able to take part in the study. As part of screening, you must complete all of the items listed below: • Give your race, age, gender, and ethnicity • Give your medical history o You must review and confirm the information in your medical history questionnaire • Give your drug, alcohol, and tobacco use history • Give your past and current medication and treatment history. This includes any over-the-counter or prescription drugs, such as vitamins, dietary supplements, or herbal supplements, taken in the past 28 days • Height and weight will be measured • Physical exam will be done • Electrocardiogram (ECG) will be collected. An ECG measures the electrical activity of the heart • You may be tested for COVID-19 o Blood tests for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B, and hepatitis C o Blood tests to see how your blood clots ▪ Fibrinogen ▪ PT/INR/aPTT o Blood tests for amylase and lipase (enzymes that help with digestion, Part B only) o Blood tests for a lipid (fats) panel (Part B only) ▪ Total cholesterol ▪ Triglycerides ▪ HDL ▪ Direct HDL o Blood tests to check your thyroid function (Part B and Part C only) ▪ TSH ▪ Free T4 o Urine to test for drugs of abuse (illegal and prescription) o Urine tests to check your albumin/ creatinine ratio o Females who have not had a period for at least 12 months in a row will have a blood hormone test to confirm they cannot have children • The study investigator may decide to do an alcohol breath test • The use of proper birth control will be reviewed (males only) • You will be asked “How do you feel?” HIV, hepatitis B, and hepatitis C will be tested at screening. If anyone is exposed to your blood during the study, you will have these tests done again. If you have a positive test, you cannot be in or remain in the study. HIV is the virus that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). If your HIV test is positive, you will be told about the results. It may take weeks or months after being infected with HIV for the test to be positive. The HIV test is not always right. Having certain infections or positive test results may have to be reported to the State Department of Health. This includes results for HIV, hepatitis, and other infections. If you have any questions about what information is required to be reported, please ask the study investigator or study staff. Although this testing is meant to be private, complete privacy cannot be guaranteed. For example, it is possible for a court of law to get health or study records without your permission.

  • Prescription Safety Glasses Prescription safety glasses will be furnished by the employer. The employer retains the authority to establish reasonable rules and procedures regarding frequency of issue, replacement of damaged glasses, limits on reimbursement costs and coordination with the employer's vision plan.

  • Ambulance Escort Where a nurse is assigned to provide patient care for a patient in transit, the following provisions shall apply: i) Where a full-time nurse performs such duties during her or his regular shift, the full-time nurse shall be paid her or his regular rate of pay. Where a full-time nurse performs such duties outside her or his regular shift or on a day off, she or he shall be paid the appropriate overtime rate. ii) Where a part-time nurse performs such duties during an assigned shift, she or he shall be paid her or his regular rate of pay. Where a part-time nurse continues to perform such duties in excess of her or his assigned shift, she or he shall be paid the appropriate overtime rate. (b) Where such duties extend beyond the nurse's regular shift, the Hospital will not require the nurse to return to regular duties at the hospital without at least eight (8) hours of time off. Where such time off extends into the nurse's next regularly scheduled shift she or he will maintain her or his regular earnings for that full shift. (c) Hours spent between the time the nurse is relieved of patient care responsibilities and the time the nurse returns to the hospital or to such other location agreed upon between the Hospital and the nurse will be paid at straight time or at appropriate overtime rates, if applicable under Article 14. 01. It is understood that the nurse shall return to the hospital or to such other location agreed upon between the Hospital and the nurse at the earliest opportunity. Prior to the nurse's departure on escort duty, or at such other time as may be mutually agreed upon between the Hospital and the nurse, the Hospital will establish with the nurse arrangements for return travel. (d) The nurse shall be reimbursed for reasonable out of pocket expenses including room, board and return transportation and consideration will be given to any special circumstances not dealt with under the foregoing provisions. NOTE 1: (Note 1 applies to full-time nurses only) The Hospital agrees to continue to pay any greater monetary benefit for ambulance escort duty if such greater benefit has been paid by the Hospital immediately prior to this Agreement. This note applies at Hospitals where this superior condition exists as of December 14, 1987. NOTE 2: (Note 2 applies to part-time nurses only) The Hospital agrees to continue to pay any greater monetary benefit for ambulance escort duty if such greater benefit was paid by the Hospital under a Collective Agreement immediately prior to this Agreement. This note applies at Hospitals where this superior condition exists as of December 14, 1987.

  • First Aid Attendants a) Designated First Aid Attendants shall receive their job rate of pay plus the Ticket Premium rate. All other employees holding valid First Aid Tickets shall receive a premium of five cents (5¢) per hour over and above their job rate.   • Industrial Accident Leave 1. Allowable leave shall be for not less than sixty (60) days during which the schools of the District are required to be in session or when the employee would otherwise have been performing work for the District in any one (1) fiscal year, for the same accident. 2. Allowable leave shall not be accumulated from year to year. 3. Industrial accident or illness leave shall commence on the first day of absence. 4. When a person employed in a position requiring certification qualifications is absent from his/her duties on account of an industrial accident or illness, he/she shall be paid such portion of the salary due him/her for any month in which the absence occurs. The total of the salary paid to his/her temporary disability indemnity under Division 4 or Division 4.5 of the Labor Code shall not total more than his/her salary. The phrase "full salary" as utilized in this subdivision shall be computed so that it shall not be less than the employee's "average weekly earnings" as that phrase is utilized in Section 4453 of the Labor Code. For purposes of this section, however, the maximum and minimum average weekly earnings set forth in Section 4453 of the Labor Code shall otherwise not be deemed applicable. 5. Industrial accident or illness leave shall be reduced by one (1) day for each day of authorized absence regardless of a temporary disability indemnity award. 6. When an industrial accident or illness leave overlaps into the next fiscal year, the employee shall be entitled to only the amount of unused leave due him/her for the same illness or injury. 7. Upon termination of the industrial accident or illness leave, the employee shall be entitled to the benefits provided in Sections 44977, 44978 and 44983 of the Education Code, and for the purposes of these sections, his/her absence shall be deemed to have commenced on the date of termination of the industrial accident or illness leave, provided that if the employee continues to receive temporary disability indemnity, he/she may elect to take as much of his/her accumulated sick leave which, when added to his/her temporary disability indemnity, will result in a payment to him/her of not more than his/her full salary. 8. During any paid leave of absence, the employee shall endorse to the district the temporary disability indemnity checks received on account of his/her industrial accident or illness. The District, in turn, shall issue the employee appropriate salary warrants for payment of the employee's salary and shall deduct normal retirement and other authorized contributions. 9. Any employee receiving benefits as a result of this section shall, during period of injury or illness, remain within the State of California unless the governing board authorizes travel outside the state.
