Special Trips. Drivers refusing or unable to make their trip shall be bypassed until the next regular rotation. (Drivers shall not remove their name from the list without the supervisor’s approval.) The trip shall then be awarded by seniority to a driver who unsuccessfully bid on the trip. Such awards will not affect subsequent trip "rotation".
Special Trips. 1. Bus drivers shall be paid their regular rate for actual travel time and waiting time pursuant to Section 3(f). 2. On overnight trips, the driver shall be compensated at their regular rate for actual travel time and for waiting time pursuant to Section 3(f), however, not to exceed eight (8) hours per day. 3. All qualified bargaining unit members gaining seniority as bus drivers shall be allowed to sign up for special trips. The special trips will be covered in the following manner. a. A meeting will be scheduled between the parties to be conducted within seven (7) days of the beginning of the school year, for the purpose of signing up for fall athletic trips. A similar meeting will be scheduled for winter athletic trips. b. Drivers who sign up will be numbered according to seniority. c. Extra trips will be numbered consecutively as they are received in the director's office. Drivers will be given twenty-four (24) hours notice whenever possible. d. Special trips will be assigned on a rotational basis beginning with the driver with the most classification seniority. Failure to accept an assignment on rotation will count as the same as accepting the trip. e. Drivers on "Special Trips" where meal stops are necessary will be reimbursed for the meal at the teacher's rate. f. Waiting time", for the purpose of this Agreement, shall be that period of time which elapses between the arrival at the destination and the time of departure home on an individual bus route. g. Waiting time shall be paid at the minimum state hourly wage or one-half (1/2) the base rate for all union drivers, whichever is higher, for special trips and for union drivers who cross the St. Mary's River to perform substitute driving duties.
Special Trips. Drivers who receive notification of a cancellation less than six 1828 (6) working hours prior to their scheduled departure time shall 1829 receive two (2) hours of pay at the appropriate rate. The special 1830 trip shall include but not be limited to the following: 1831 • Check-out and warm-up time 1832 • Driving time to and from departure point and a scheduled trip 1833 • Time necessary for administrative duties and clean—up of 1834 equipment.
Special Trips. A. Special trips will be considered as any trip less than three (3) hours long. Such trips will include, but not be limited to, bowling, play rehearsals, short class trips, etc. B. A list of regular drivers who have indicated a willingness to take special trips will be set up on a seniority basis. After the list has been established, the assignment of runs will be on a straight rotation basis the same as the field trip procedure. C. These trips do not count against the field trip roster. D. A chart will be developed for the purpose of keeping the rotation record and kept on the bulletin board in the transportation office. A driver must sign the field trip list the first five (5) days of school to be eligible for trips. No names will be accepted after this date, except in the case of a new regular driver. E. Special trip sign-up will be treated the same as field trip sign-up.
Special Trips. Special trips for overnight stays shall be paid at the rate on the salary schedule in Section 1 of Article 11 above, and compensation shall be based upon 12 hours minimum guaranteed first night and actual hours worked for subsequent days (defined as driving or supervising the bus).
Special Trips. Any trip commencing or ending outside or beyond regular home to school bussing hours (6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, weekdays) shall be designated a Special Trip. 21.6.1.1 Special Trips will be assigned on a rotational basis among regular drivers who are qualified to drive all busses in the fleet. 21.6.1.2 A regular driver is one who drives a daily route. 21.6.1.3 If no such driver is available, then a qualified substitute driver (as described in 21.8) may be assigned the Special Trip 21.6.1.4 Substitute Drivers will be assigned Special Trips on a rotational basis; that rotation limited to and including only the substitute drivers. 21.6.1.5 Any driver who declines a Special Trip shall be considered to have used his/her turn in that rotation and will not be offered a Special Trip until the next rotation. Other regular drivers in the rotation will then be offered the Special Trip. 21.6.1.6 Any substitute driver who declines a Special Trip shall be considered to have used his/her turn in that rotation and will not be offered a Special Trip until the next rotation. Other substitute drivers in the rotation will then be offered the Special Trip. 21.6.1.7 Whenever a regular driver is assigned a Special Trip that precludes him/her from driving a portion or all of his/her daily route, a qualified substitute driver (in rotation) will be assigned to drive the portion or all of the vacated route; that assignment being dependent upon the substitute’s availability at the time. 21.6.1.8 The availability of a substitute driver for assignment to a vacated route shall be determined by the substitute driver’s immediate supervisor and/or the Transportation Director (giving consideration to the priority of the substitute driver’s other duties at the time) and that determination will not be subject to the grievance procedure. 21.6.1.9 This article may not apply to Special Trips to the mountains, large cities, or some night trips. Special Trips requiring these skills will be assigned to drivers who posses the required skills or experience. 21.6.1.10 The possession of required skills will be at the determination of the Transportation Director and/or Driver Trainer and that determination will not be subject to the grievance procedure.
Special Trips. All special trips shall be paid at the rate of $10.52 per hour during 2005-06, $10.73 per hour during 2006-07 and $10.93 per hour during 2007-08 school years. Trips shall be a minimum of 2 hour's pay. The hourly rate will be computed on the basis of garage departure time. Special trips will be designated on a rotation basis. Only one (1) run will be paid for in the event a special trip occurs when a driver will miss one or more runs AM or PM or kindergarten. a. Special trips will be defined as any trip other than a regularly scheduled bus run unless otherwise specified by bus supervisor. Probationary drivers will not be allowed to drive outside trips until they have worked ninety (90) work days as a regular driver. b. The school district must post requests for buses forty-eight (48) hours or more in advance of the date needed with the exception of spectator buses which will be posted as soon as possible. c. In the event that regular drivers are not available, an approved driver may be assigned by the bus supervisor. The CBDA will furnish the transportation supervisor the names of seven (7) or more members available for outside trips. Trips will be taken in that order. If the driver does not want the trip or is unable to take it, the regular driver will lose his turn. If a trip is canceled, the driver that was assigned will take the first posted unassigned trip after cancellation. d. Salary paid on Saturdays will be paid time and a half. Salary paid on Sundays and holidays will be at double time excluding the Capac Memorial Day Parade. Bus runs for the Capac Memorial Day Parade will be on a voluntary unpaid basis. e. A minimum of one (1) adult chaperone will be assigned for every 25 students on special trips. f. Special trips with more than 9 students will be transported by a certified bargaining unit bus driver for trips within the Lower Peninsula of the state. The district may have the option of using commercial buses and drivers to up to two (2) trips within the Lower Peninsula. When the District chooses to use commercial buses and drivers for more than two (2) trips during the year within the Lower Peninsula, bargaining unit drivers shall be compensated the hourly rate of the trip as stated in Section 1 of this Article. Special Trips a) A list of seniority drivers will be posted in the order of his/her seniority dates. Special Trips will be assigned from the mentioned list on a rotational basis to seniority bus drivers. b) Special Trips will be posted and assigned by Friday. Trips not accepted by the end of a.m. run (8:00am) on Monday will be assigned by rotation by the supervisor or his/her designee. c) Drivers will be allowed to exercise his/her seniority to bump the junior driver on trips that are posted for the same day. Bumping will be allowed on the first round only, until the end of the a.m. run (8:00am) on Monday. d) Drivers with higher seniority that refuse a trip, will not be allowed to bump on the same day. e) Drivers with less seniority will not be allowed to trade with a higher seniority driver. f) A driver may include 15 minutes for pre-trip inspection, preparation, warm up, etc. g) A driver may include 15 minutes for post trip inspection, sweeping, empty waste baskets, etc. h) Drivers will be paid a minimum 2 hours at special trip rate for all special trips. Spring Arbor will be paid 1 hour over and 1 hour back, at special trip rate. i) If all regular drivers refuse a trip and no qualified substitute is available, the driver with the least seniority will be required to accept the assignment. j) If a driver has to refuse a trip because he/she already has a conflicting special trip assignment, the refusal will be considered a cancellation and driver will be assigned next scheduled trip. k) When driving an extra trip during a meal period, driver will be paid $5.00 per breakfast, $6.00 for lunch, $7.00 for dinner ($4.00 for skill center). Meal periods will be 6:30 to 8:00 a.m., 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Special Trips. These trips shall be paid at a rate to be determined by the Director of Transportation, bargaining unit representatives and the driver. Wage and hour standards will be adhered to, when assigning rates.
