Evaluation of Teacher Education. 4.1 The evaluation of teacher education for salary purposes shall be determined by a statement of qualification issued by the Alberta Teachers' Association Teacher Qualifications Service in accordance with the principles and policies established by the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board. 4.2 The adjustment dates for changes for teacher education shall be the commencement of the school year and February 1. 4.3 Each teacher claiming additional teacher education or commencing employment shall supply to the Employer: (a) within 45 days of commencement of the school year, (b) within 45 days of February 1, (c) within 45 days of commencement duties, whichever applies, a statement of qualifications issued by the Teacher Qualifications Service of the Association. Until the teacher submits the statement, the teacher shall be paid according to the most recent acceptable statement of qualifications or according to the minimum education requirements for that teachers' certificate. 4.4 If proof of application for a statement of qualifications is supplied within 45 days, upon receipt of the TQS statement, the salary adjustment shall be retroactive to: (a) commencement of school year, (b) February 1, (c) commencement of employment, whichever applies, otherwise the salary shall be adjusted effective the beginning of the month following receipt by the Employer of a statement of qualifications.

Evaluation of Teacher Education. 4.1 The evaluation of teacher education for salary purposes shall be determined by a statement of qualifications issued by the Alberta Teachers’ Association Teacher Qualifications Service in accordance with the principles and policies established by the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board pursuant to the memorandum of agreement dated March 23, 1967, between the Department of Education, the Alberta School Boards Association, formerly the Alberta School Trustees’ Association and the Alberta Teachers’ Association. 4.2 Placement on the salary schedule shall be according to the number of years of teacher education on the first day of each school semester or on commencement of employment. 4.3 A teacher commencing employment with the Board, shall be responsible for supplying a statement of qualifications from the Teacher Qualifications Service. 4.4 A teacher claiming entitlement to an increment for purposes of placement on the salary grid in respect of an additional year or years of university education shall within 90 calendar days of the commencement of the school semester supply evidence from the Teacher Qualifications Service of the teacher having applied to the Teacher Qualifications Service for a statement of qualifications indicating the number of years of university education for which the Teacher Qualifications Service will grant recognition. 4.5 Until the teacher submits the statement of qualifications hereinbefore referred to, the teacher shall be placed on the salary schedule according to the most recent acceptable statement of qualifications or according to the minimum education requirements for his teaching certificate. 4.6 In the event that a teacher has submitted evidence from the Teacher Qualifications Service confirming that the teacher has applied for a statement of qualifications from the Teacher Qualifications Service within 90 calendar days of the commencement of the school semester, any adjustment to the placement of the teacher on the salary grid warranted by the statement of qualifications shall be made upon receipt by the Board of the statement of qualifications. The adjustment to placement on the salary grid shall be retroactive to the commencement of the school semester. 4.7 In the event that a teacher does not within 90 calendar days of the commencement of the school semester supply evidence from the Teacher Qualifications Service of having applied to the Teacher Qualifications Service for a statement of qualifications any adjustment ...
Evaluation of Teacher Education. 5.2.1 The evaluation of teacher education for salary purposes shall be determined by a statement of qualification issued by the Alberta Teachers' Association -Teacher Qualifications Service in accordance with the principles and policies established by the Teacher Salary Qualification Board pursuant to the Memorandum of Agreement dated 23 March, 1967 between the Department of Education, The Alberta School Trustees' Association and the Alberta Teachers' Association. 5.2.2 Placement on the salary schedule shall be according to the number of years of teacher education on the first day of each school year, on 1st February or on commencement of employment. 5.2.3 Each teacher claiming additional teacher education and each teacher commencing employment with the Board, shall supply satisfactory evidence of teacher education to the Board within ninety 5.2.4 No payments for salary adjustments will be considered beyond the terms of the Collective Agreement within which such claim is initiated.

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • TEACHER EVALUATION A. The administration will be evaluating the teacher’s performance within the time of formal responsibility. The evaluation process and form will be shared with the Association Building Representatives at the beginning of each school year. (a) Probationary teachers shall be evaluated at least two (2) times a year. The first evaluation will be completed prior to December 1st and the second prior to April 15th. Each evaluation will be based upon announced, unannounced, informal observations, on the performance of other duties and responsibilities and the goals developed in the Individualized Development Plan (IDP). The announced and unannounced observations should be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes in length. The observations may occur at anytime prior to the development of the written evaluation, but at least one of them must be planned in consultation with the probationary teacher. The results of formal observations will be discussed with the teacher in a timely manner. The information gathered during the observations will be used to write the evaluations. (b) Tenured teachers will be evaluated on a rotating schedule, but no less than once every three- (3) years. The administration reserves the right to evaluate a tenured teacher more often. The evaluation will be based upon announced, unannounced, informal observations and on the performance of other duties and responsibilities. The announced and unannounced observations should be a minimum of thirty (30) minutes in length. The observations may occur at any time prior to the development of the written evaluation, but at least one of them must be planned in consultation with the tenured teacher. The results of formal observations will be discussed with the teacher in a timely manner. The information gathered during the observations will be used to write the evaluations. 2. The administrator shall prepare and submit a written evaluation and recommendations to the teacher prior to May 30th of the year they are evaluated. The administrator shall hold a conference with the teacher to discuss the written evaluation and recommendations. 3. Upon receipt of the evaluation the teacher will sign the form indicating his/her receipt of the report. The signature on the form does not constitute his/her approval unless specifically noted. 4. Teachers involved with the instruction of Advanced Placement courses will be evaluated. This evaluation in the first year will be made part of the formal evaluation only at the request of the teacher. B. A teacher who disagrees with the content or procedure of evaluation may submit a written answer which shall be attached to the file copy of the evaluation in question and/or submit any complaints through Level 4 of the grievance procedure. C. If an administrator believes a teacher is doing unacceptable work, the reasons shall be set forth in specific terms. Included will be examples of specific ways in which the teacher is to improve and assistance may be given by the administrator and other staff members. In subsequent conferences it shall be the responsibility of the individual teacher to inquire whether adequate improvement has taken place. D. Monitoring and observation of the work performance of the teacher shall be conducted openly. The public address or audio system or similar types of communications will not be used for the purpose of evaluation. E. The Board and the Association recognize that the ability of pupils to progress and mature academically is a combined result of the school, home, economic and social environment and that teachers alone cannot be held accountable for all aspects of the academic achievement of the pupil in the classroom. Test results of academic progress of students shall not be used as the sole determinant or in isolated instances to evaluate the quality of a teacher's service or fitness for retention. F. All communications, including evaluations by Milan Administrators, commendations, and documented complaints directed toward the teacher which are to be included in the personnel file shall be made available for review of the teacher prior to placement in the file; a copy of any such communication will be provided to the teacher at this time. Pre-placement information such as confidential credentials, letters of reference from universities, individuals, or previous employers are exempt from such review. A written statement for inclusion in the personnel file may then be made by the teacher in regard to materials that were not signed by the teacher. A representative of the Association may accompany the teacher. G. Ordinarily, observations of teachers shall not be for less than a full class period or for the duration of a particular teaching lesson.

  • General Education Requirements Students who intend to transfer to SUNY Buffalo State College with an A.A. or A.S. degree, will be considered as having fulfilled general education/Intellectual Foundations as long as they complete the 30 credits and 7 of 10 areas of SUNY-GER requirements prior to the start of their studies at SUNY Buffalo State College. Students should have successfully completed the SUNY-GER Basic Communication requirement with a grade of “C” or better, the mathematics requirement, and 5 of the remaining 8 categories. The student is responsible for fulfilling the SUNY Buffalo State College Diversity requirement.

  • Dimensions Education Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. A minimum of 10 years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders. Requires advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management and other related disciplines/processes.
