The evaluation of teacher education for salary purposes shall be determined by a statement of qualification issued by The Alberta Teachers’ Association Teacher Qualifications Service (TQS) in accordance with the policies and principles approved by the Teacher Salary Qualifications Board. b. The teacher commencing employment with the Board shall supply a statement of qualifications from the Teacher Qualifications Service at the time of entering into a contract of employment with the Board. c. Until the teacher submits the TQS evaluation, the teacher shall be placed, upon receipt by the Board of his/her teaching experience verification, at one year below grid position claimed, or at 0 years experience, whichever is higher. d. When a teacher commencing employment with the Board submits a TQS evaluation after employment has commenced, the TQS evaluation for salary purposes shall be retroactive to the date of employment, subject to the provisions of Clause 8.2. e. Adjustment to evaluation due to further training will be made twice each year, October and February, for all teachers submitting an amended TQS evaluation showing that their qualifications have increased by September 1 or January 1 of each school year. If a teacher can supply evidence that conditions beyond his or her control have precluded receipt of a revised evaluation, this period shall be extended to forty-five (45) days beyond the October and February adjustment period. 8.2 Claims for salary adjustments shall not be considered retroactive for years prior to the school year in which the claim is initiated.

In a school where there is no assistant principal, a teacher shall be designated by the Board to be acting principal in the absence of the principal. The designate shall be paid according to clause should the principal be absent for more than one day. When both the principal and assistant principal are absent, a teacher shall be appointed acting principal. The teacher so appointed shall be paid according to clause should the principal and assistant principal be absent for more than one day.

Until the teacher submits the said statement of qualifications, the teacher shall be placed on the salary schedule according to the most recent acceptable statement of qualification or according to the minimum education requirements for a teaching certificate. If proof of application for a statement of qualifications is supplied within 45 days, the teacher shall be paid according to the evaluation retroactive to the date of commencement of duties of the present school year. If proof of said application is not supplied within 45 days, salary shall be adjusted effective the first day of the month following the submission of a statement of qualification or proof of application. Proof of application shall be confirmed by a letter of acknowledgement as provided by the Teacher Qualifications Service. 7.3.1 Each teacher acquiring and claiming additional teacher education shall supply to the Board, by September 1 or February 1, a revised statement of qualifications to be issued by the Teacher Qualifications Service or proof of having applied for same. If proof of application is not received by September 1, the salary adjustment will not take effect until the following February 1. If proof of application is not received by February 1, the salary adjustment will not take effect until September 1 in the next school year. Proof of application shall be confirmed by a letter of acknowledgement as provided by the Teacher Qualifications Service.

  • SALARY DETERMINATION FOR EMPLOYEES IN ADULT EDUCATION 1. The following shall apply to employees providing instruction in adult education programs in these districts: Continuing Education employees in the Adult Education High School Completion Program (credit courses) and Adult Education Academic Upgrading Programs (Adult Basic Education, General Education Development, Pre-General Education Development, Literacy and Adult Education English Language Programs). Employees teaching Adult Education academic programs including: High School Completion Program, Pathfinder High School Completion Program, Academic Business Education Program, General Equivalency Diploma Program, Adult Basic Education Program, Adult English as a Second Language Program, and Adult Special Education Program, in the Continuing Education Division.

  • Years of Service A Participant’s Years of Service shall include all service performed for the Employer and ¨ Shall ¨ Shall Not include service performed for the Related Employer.

  • Retirement Program Any employee employed prior to October 1, 1977, working at least seventy (70) hours per month shall by law be a member of the Washington Public Employees Retirement system (PERS) Plan One. Any employee working at least seventy (70) hours per month, entering employment on or after October 1, 1977, shall by law be a member of the School Employees Retirement System, Plan Two or Three. The District shall provide each new employee information concerning PERS or SERS membership benefits.

  • Maintaining Eligibility for Employer Contribution The employer's contribution continues as long as the employee remains on the payroll in an insurance eligible position. Employees who complete their regular school year assignment shall receive coverage through August 31.

  • Orientation and In-Service Program The Hospital recognizes the need for a Hospital Orientation Program of such duration as it may deem appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Hospital and the nurses involved.

  • Educational Benefits The Employer agrees to provide educational benefits to employees that are in permanent status as of the first day of the quarter they are registering in accordance with the Employer’s space-available tuition waiver policy and employee 50% operating fee tuition waiver policy, to include:

  • Eligibility for Group Participation This section describes eligibility to participate in the Group Insurance Program.

  • Fees and Compensation Managers and Officers may receive such compensation and fees, if any, for their services, and such reimbursement for expenses, as may be determined by resolution of the Board.

  • Compensation/Benefit Programs During the Term of Employment, the Executive shall be entitled to participate in all medical, dental, hospitalization, accidental death and dismemberment, disability, travel and life insurance plans, and any and all other plans as are presently and hereinafter offered by the Company to its executive personnel, including savings, pension, profit-sharing and deferred compensation plans, subject to the general eligibility and participation provisions set forth in such plans.

  • Medical Appointment for Pregnant Employees 35.9.1 Up to three decimal seven five (3.75) hours of reasonable time off with pay for each appointment will be granted to pregnant employees for the purpose of attending routine medical appointments.
