Experience Increment. 1. The granting of an annually negotiated experience increment shall take place as of the first (1st) teacher work day of the new school year. 2. Teachers with experience in the District, who have left the District and then are rehired to a bargaining unit position, shall not be placed lower than the salary they were on at the time they previously left employment in the District. This provision does not apply to teacher on transition as defined under Article XVII or teachers engaged in mentoring or tutoring.
Experience Increment. 1. An experience increment shall be granted to: i) a teacher for teaching experience; ii) an aboriginal language teacher for teaching and aboriginal language teaching experience; iii) an educational assistant or remedial tutor for teaching experience, aboriginal language teaching experience, educational assistant experience and tutoring experience in accredited schools on the following basis: a) a minimum of eight (8) full-time equivalent months of employment worked during a school year; b) a minimum of eight (8) full-time equivalent months of employment worked that are combined from two periods of employment in consecutive school years; c) full experience for services of a full-time teaching member of a Teacher Education Program as recognized by the Department of Education of the Yukon Territory for certification purposes; d) a minimum of eight (8) full-time equivalent months of employment worked in any consecutive four year period; or: e) a combined minimum of eight (8) full-time equivalent months of employment worked on either side of an authorized period of leave.
Experience Increment. In addition to any lateral movement to which a teacher is entitled in accordance with Article 6.4 below, a teacher shall be granted one experience increment at the beginning of each school year; provided, however, that a teacher whose Schedule placement continues at the highest numbered step in any column will not receive an experience increment; and further provided that a teacher will not receive more than one experience increment each school year; and further provided, that Article 6.3 shall be suspended for the 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2015-2016, and 2016-2017 school years. Experience steps shall not be provided at the beginning of the 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2015-2016, and 2016-2017 school years. For example, a teacher on BA – Step 3 during the 2014-2015 school year shall remain on BA – Step 3 for the 2015-2016 school year.

Experience Increment. 6.1.1 A teacher who provides active teacher services with the Board for a minimum equivalent of 120 full teaching days shall be granted one teaching experience increment. 6.1.2 Such teaching experience must be earned within three years with the same Board. When the 120 day requirement has been met the teacher shall not begin to accumulate credit towards another year of teaching experience until the commencement of another school year or February 1 as the case may be. This clause affects only teachers hired for or after the 1989/1990 school year. 6.1.4 The adjustment date for changes in the number of years allowed for teaching experience shall be on the first teaching day of the school year or February 1. No teacher shall earn more than one experience increment in any one school year. 6.1.5 No teacher shall receive increments for experience gained while the teacher was not holding a valid teaching certificate or letter of authority. 6.1.6 Each teacher claiming additional teaching experience and each teacher commencing employment with the Board, shall submit satisfactory evidence of teaching experience to the Board within 90 calendar days or submit satisfactory evidence to the Board of having applied for same within 30 teaching days from commencement of the school year or from (a) If such evidence is submitted within the 90 calendar days, salary shall be paid according to this experience effective the date of commencement of the school year or the date of commencement of employment whichever is applicable.
