Experience Steps. One (1) year of salary schedule credit, to a maximum of four (4), shall be granted for each year of full-time, prior elementary public school teaching experience rendered on the basis of a valid regular public-school teaching credential; the maximum step placement for a teacher new to the District shall be Step Five (5). To receive credit for a year of experience, an employee must be in paid status for 75% of the days required service for his/her classification.
Experience Steps. The Union agrees not to file any demands for arbitration regarding the designation of experience levels for the employees listed below. However, the Union reserves the right to discuss with management any blatant and material errors that come to light. Upon request, management agrees to discuss these issues with the Union and both sides will endeavor in good faith to resolve any disagreement. However, it is understood that no demands for arbitration will be filed and the no-strike clause shall remain in effect.
Experience Steps. OPOTC certified police officers will be placed in step 1 upon initial hire, unless they qualify for advanced placement under the lateral entry program (see next section). Police officers who are initially placed in a step below step 5 will advance to the next step on the next July 1 after their date of hire and will advance
Experience Steps. The District will approve the maximum amount of experience recognized by the state for salary purposes, in accordance with state law applicable to the 2017-18 school year. Recognizing that some ESA and CTE staff have experience outside of education that may be considered in the appropriate determination of a staff member’s placement on the salary schedule, the employee may request that the superintendent or designee look at verified work experience to decide if they should qualify for extra steps. Employees placed on a salary schedule previous to the one effective September 1, 2018 may be eligible for recognition of additional years of experience. These employees must submit verified experience reports to the Human Resources office prior to January 1, 2019 for consideration of additional years of experience. Reports submitted prior to October 1, 2018, when verified, may qualify the employee for additional experience in the 2018-2019 school year. Reports submitted between October 2, 2018 and January 2019, if verified, may qualify the employee for additional experience in the 2019-2020 work year. The District’s determination of salary schedule placement for ESA and CTE staff based on experience outside of education is not subject to grievance under Article XI of the Agreement.
Experience Steps. 1. Placement - The basis for placement on the appropriate experience step shall be:
a. the total number of years of experience in a specific activity/coaching field;
b. experience in either girl's or boy's sports shall be counted equally toward total years of experience, provided such experience is within the same coaching field;
c. total years of experience shall be limited to the length of time that a position has been a paid supplemental contract;
d. actual placement on the appropriate step shall be verified, in writing, by the treasurer.
2. Years of experience in an activity/coaching field will be recognized for a teacher new to the school district, provided he/she assumes the responsibilities of the supplemental contract upon employment.
3. When the responsibilities of a supplemental contract are shared between two teachers, each teacher shall be placed on the appropriate step based upon his/her experience and paid one- half (1/2) of the specified pay;
4. The terms of this provision shall also apply to any non-certified person assuming the responsibility of a supplemental contract.
Experience Steps. The bargaining unit members’ salary schedule shall contain experience steps:
5.4.1 Classification I, II, II, and IV shall contain 10 steps, from 0 through 10 years of experience.
5.4.2 All bargaining unit members shall be placed on the salary schedule according to their educational qualifications and their satisfactory teaching experience as determined by the Superintendent or designee.
Experience Steps. 1. A teacher will advance one (1) step with each year of experience in the system.
2. New teachers may receive one (1) full step credit for every year’s experience outside of the school system unlimited up to the 11th step.

Experience Steps. In addition to the base salaries, principals shall receive the following amounts based on years of administrative experience in District 77 plus years of outside experience credited by the District upon initial employment. For purposes of this Section, such administrative experience shall be defined at the discretion of the District. The District may place newly hired principals on experience steps at its discretion. Principals must have served in an administrative capacity for at least seven months of the fiscal year in order to move up a step the following year.
Experience Steps. Classified staff currently employed by the College and between steps 1 - 14 on the salary scale will advance one experience step, every July 1st. New employees hired before April 1st will advance one experience step effective July 1st of their first year of service. Employees hired on or after April 1st will remain on the same experience step for the balance of that year and all of the succeeding year before advancing to the next experience step on July 1st of the following year.
Experience Steps. 1. The basis for placement on the appropriate experience step shall be: - equal experience in movement from head coach in the same sport (Boys/Girls). - equal experience in movement from head coach to assistant coach within the same sport (Boys/Girls). - equal experience from assistant coach to assistant coach within the same sport (Boys/Girls). - individuals with related experience outside the specific area will receive one (1) experience credit for every three (3) years of experience not to exceed four (4) years experience.
2. Years of experience in a supplemental position will be recognized for a teacher new to the District, provided he/she assumes the responsibilities of the position upon employment.
3. The terms of this Contract shall also apply to any person assuming the responsibility of a supplemental contract. Candidates from outside the bargaining unit may be accorded credit for prior experience or determined appropriate by the Board of Education.
4. For persons holding supplemental contracts who then cease to hold a contract, prior years of experience in supplemental positions will be recognized for teachers in the district for that specific area. If it is in a related or another area, experience steps as stated in D.1. above apply.
