NON-TEACHING EXPERIENCE. In order to accrue applicable prior experience under the provisions of Articles 15.09.3, 15.15, 15.16 and 15.18, an individual shall designate the position(s) previously held to which they wish the prior experience to be attributed. Such experience may only be Type 1 experience if the individual has already accrued Type 1 credit. Where the individual has no Type 1 experience, they may accrue Type 2 credits. The Labour/Management Committee shall determine the prior experience to be awarded for any other non-teaching service. In such cases, the employee shall designate the position(s) previously held to which they wish the prior experience to be attributed.

NON-TEACHING EXPERIENCE. (i) War service for teachers hired after September 1, 1972 shall be allowed if deemed eligible by the Teacher Pension Plan Board. The amount of annual increase will be according to the schedule in effect at the time and will be for each year of service. (ii) Business or industrial experience shall be paid at the rate of three-hundred dollars ($300.00) per year. For the school year 1998-1999, non-teaching experience for technical teachers will be recognized in accordance with the previous Windsor and the previous Essex County Board collective agreements. Effective September 1, 2000, each year of business or ind ustrial experience for technical teachers shall count as one year of teaching experience on the grid to a maximum of six years of experience. (iii) A teacher who holds Vocational-Commercial Certification and/or Technical Certification and who holds and /or subsequently receives a Canadian degree or its equivalent and has been awarded intermediate and/or senior certification shall be entitled to an allowance not exceeding five years for the experience which was a requirement for entrance to the course leading to Vocational-Commercial Certification and/or Technical Certification. (iv) Other experience desirable for the subject taught including indirectly related business or industrial experience will be considered on its merits at the rate of $200.00 per year to a maximum of $1,000. Note: Proof of experience shall be furnished as the original of the written statement of the employing firm(s). For the purpose of allowance, the work experience must be full-time work, must be the primary occupation of the person concerned, and must not be work engaged in during vacation periods. Except as outlined in Article 7.09 (a) (iii) above, years of experience which were used to secure entrance to a college of education or to upgrade a teacher’s classification may not be used to calculate the experience allowance. Additionally, teachers will not receive less than that which they received prior to acquiring their Certificate of Qualification. (b) Part year of industrial or business experience shall be calculated as the fraction of a year as indicated in Subsection 7.09 (a) (ii) multiplied by the appropriate amount listed in Subsection 7.10 (a) (ii). NON-TEACHING EXPERIENCE. School Psychologists and Senior School Psychologists: new unit members assigned to one of these job classes will be credited for public or recognized private school experience in these fields in the same manner as that for crediting teaching experience as described in Section 3.01. Management experience outside the district is creditable if the position required a credential. Unit members assigned to one of the job classes listed in the previous paragraph will receive experience credit for previous full-time or full-time equivalent employment as a licensed or certified professional up to the maximum step of the Salary Schedule. Self-employment experience in a private practice is not creditable. Specific non-school experience for School Psychologists and Senior School Psychologists may be credited as defined below:

  • Previous Experience 31.01 New employees will be classified according to previous comparable experience for the purpose of establishing wage rates. The Co-operative shall not be required to recognize previous experience of new employees who have not worked in the same or similar business in the past two (2) years. Recognized credit for previous experience shall be applicable to qualifying employees commencing with the first working day following completion of said employee's probationary period. 31.02 It shall be the responsibility of the employee to supply proof of their previous experience prior to the completion of their probationary period.   • NON-TEACHING DUTIES The Board and the Association acknowledge that a teacher's primary responsibility is to teach, and that his/her energies should be utilized to this end. It is agreed that teachers will be relieved of non-teaching duties to the extent possible and practical through the use of non-teaching personnel to perform clerical-type tasks and supervise playgrounds and lunchrooms.

The parties further recognize that it is not feasible at this time to set general numerical limitations upon class size because of physical space available, special programs, special student needs, attendance area variances, differences in scheduling systems, busing, and because of other variable causes affecting class size. Nevertheless, the parties shall make reasonable effort to maintain class size at reasonable, workable, and educationally effective levels in all situations. 11-3 TEACHER LOAD 11-3-1 Teaching load shall be defined as the number of separate class preparations that a teacher has per school day as delineated in the course description guide.

  • TEACHING CONDITIONS The parties recognize that optimum school facilities for both student and teacher are desirable to insure the high quality of education that is the goal of both the Association and the Board. It is also acknowledged that the primary duty and responsibility of the teacher is to teach and that the organization of the school and school day should be directed toward ensuring that the energy of the teacher is primarily utilized to this end.

  • CREDIT FOR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE All employees shall be classified according to previous comparable supermarket experience. Previous comparable experience shall be granted on the following basis: A. Out of the industry for less than one (1) year will receive credit for fifty percent (50%) of their previous experience to a maximum credit of twelve (12) months' credit for previous experience. B. Out of the industry for more than one (1) year, will receive credit for fifty percent (50%) of their previous experience up to a maximum of six (6) months' credit for previous experience. No previous experience will be considered unless it has been stated by the employee on his or her Application for Employment form. (This provision shall not apply where employees fail to indicate their previous comparable experience by agreement with Management.) New employees having previous comparable experience may be paid at a lower scale of wage than their claimed experience calls for but not less than the minimum rate established by this Agreement for an evaluation period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from the date of employment, providing that if the employee's services are retained, then after the forty-five (45) day period they shall receive any difference between the evaluation rate paid and the rate for which their experience qualifies them retroactive to the date their employment started, and shall receive written notification showing the credit granted for previous experience. In the event of any disagreement as to the credit granted for previous experience, such disagreement shall be considered a Grievance and the Grievance Procedure provided in this Agreement shall apply. Providing that the Employer has: i) Provided the employee with the "New Employee" letter provided for in Section 3.02 of this Agreement not later than two (2) weeks from the date of employment, and ii) Provided the employee with the written notification showing credit granted for previous experience within the forty-five (45) day period required by this Section, and iii) Provided the Union with a copy of the letter showing credit granted for previous experience within the same period then no consideration will be given to any disagreement pertaining to credit for previous experience if presented later than sixty (60) days from the date of employment.
