Experience Increments. A3.01 A teacher is granted one Experience Increment for each year of teaching experience in Canada or comparable experience elsewhere.
(1) A year of teaching experience consists of:
(a) any combination of teaching experience totalling 195 sessional days; or
(b) a minimum of 150 teaching days in a single academic year; or
(c) an accumulation, subject to A3.03, of pro-rated part-time days which total to the equivalent of 195 full days; or
(d) a year of teaching experience as certified by a previous employer.
(2) A teacher may not claim more than one Experience Increment on the basis of A3.01(1)(b).
(3) A teacher is entitled to an Experience Increment earned under A3.01(1)(a) as soon as it is earned, provided it has not already been claimed in A3.01(1)(b).
A3.02 Before appointment to the teaching staff of the Government of the Northwest Territories, the teacher submits proof of previous teaching experience to the Registrar of the TQS appointed under Section 49 of the Education Act.
A3.03 Teaching experience is experience of at least 15 consecutive teaching days as a teacher, contract/term teacher or substitute teacher.
A3.04 A teacher who is on loan to another agency for teaching duties will be given experience credit equal to the period of each stay for the purpose of calculating annual increments.
A3.05 A teacher will not be granted more than one Experience Increment for credit granted for educational leave.
(1) Teachers in the following positions are granted Experience Increments for service directly related to the subject area in which the teacher is employed:
(a) Industrial Arts - experience gained as a Journeyperson in a trade directly related to the teaching assignment.
(b) Library – experience gained as a librarian in a public library of a comparable position will be evaluated by the Employer. If the experience is considered appropriate to the teaching situation, the Librarian is granted appropriate experience increments.
(c) High school courses – experience gained in a college or a university setting delivering high school course materials; or as an instructor in a Teacher Education Program. Experience increments are calculated by pro-rating the teaching time for high school courses to a full course load.
(2) Each year of related experience, attained after qualification of Journeyperson or Librarian, is regarded as a year teaching experience up to a maximum of five years’ Experience Increments.

Experience Increments. A teacher is granted one Experience Increment for each year of teaching experience in Canada or comparable experience elsewhere.
Experience Increments. Full and part-time employees shall receive for experience increments, on an annual basis, up to the maximum of their salary scale as follows:
i) If their hire date or date of promotion is the 15th of the month or prior to the 15th of the month, the experience increment date shall be the 1st of that month.
ii) If their hire date or date of promotion is after the 15th of the month, the experience increment date shall be the 1st of the next month.
Experience Increments. In recognition of service in the Concord and Concord-Carlisle School Districts including authorized leaves of absence, teachers shall receive yearly increments as follows: Years of Service % of Bachelor’s Maximum 10-14 2% 15-19 3% 20-24 4% 25-29 5% 30+ 6%
Experience Increments. A year of teaching experience shall be earned by teachers performing required duties for at least 130 school days in the school term with the Board. Teaching experience earned by part-time teachers or by a teacher under temporary contract, may be accumulated within three consecutive year intervals. When a year of teaching experience has been accumulated by part-time teachers or by a teacher under temporary contract, the teacher shall not begin to earn additional teaching experience until an increment has been granted at the beginning of another school year or
Experience Increments. Administrators are to be advanced one (1) experience increment on the salary range, subject to the provisions of Article 4.023, based on the number of continuous full duty years completed with the Employer until the maximum is reached.
Experience Increments. 1. All experience increments will be granted on the September payroll. To count toward salary placement for the current school year, all credits and clock hours must be earned by October 1. All documentation including official transcripts or approved clock hour forms verifying credits or clock hours for educational increments must be submitted to the District by October 5th. An exception will be made for credits earned in the month of September, which may be submitted by the District until November 5 to allow time for official documentation. (2018)
2. Any official documentation received after these deadlines will not be reflected in an educational increment adjustment until the following September payroll and will not be retroactive for the prior year. (2018)
Experience Increments. 7.1 A year of teaching experience shall be any one school year during which a teacher has taught for not less than 125 full days.
7.2 A full increment will be given if 110 full days are earned during two consecutive school years prior to November 1, 1996. A full increment will be given if 125 full days are earned during two consecutive school years, starting November 1, 1996.
7.7 Effective September 1, 2005, substitute teachers will be granted credit for an experience increment for salary purposes, when the accumulated total or equivalent full days taught with this Board in a single school year is 125 days or more. Teaching days cannot be transferred from one school year to the next.
Experience Increments. 7.1 A year of teaching experience shall be any one school year during which a teacher has taught for not less than one hundred and twenty-five (125) full days.
7.2 A full increment will be given if one hundred and ten (110) full days are earned during two
Experience Increments. All licensed personnel satisfactorily completing one school year (minimum 135 days) of employment are eligible for experience increments and teachers will be entitled to progression toward contract status to the extent permitted by law.
