A teacher granted maternity or parental leave under this Article may also apply for extended maternity/parental leave for an additional period of up to one (1) year to coincide with the commencement of a term or semester, or the following Christmas or spring break.

The Advisory Committee credits all Hours of Service described in this paragraph to the computation period in which the absence period begins or, if the Employee does not need these Hours of Service to prevent a Break in Service in the computation period in which his absence period begins, the Advisory Committee credits these Hours of Service to the immediately following computation period.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Parental Leave (a) An employee who becomes a parent, and who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks immediately preceding the date of the birth of child or the date the child first came into care or custody of the employee, shall be entitled to parental leave.

The leave shall commence on the date requested by the ASF Member, and shall continue for a period up to nine (9) months. Parental leave may be extended for an additional six (6) months upon application to and approval by the President/designee.
