Field Activities. The Student will be engaged in (1) a substantial lawyering experience that (2) exposes the Student to a variety of lawyering skills and tasks (3) in furtherance of the Student’s learning goals and (4) includes multiple opportunities for performance, feedback, and self-evaluation. Assignments may include (without limitation) drafting contracts, briefs, pleadings or other legal documents; researching and writing legal memoranda; interviewing clients, witnesses, or other persons with relevant information; attending negotiations or mediations; and observing or participating in meetings, depositions, or court proceedings. Administrative work will be kept to a minimum. Communication & Feedback: I will keep the Student informed about office practices and assignment requirements and deadlines. I will be available to meet with the Student to provide instruction, support, and feedback on assignments. The Student will be provided specific, individualized, and timely feedback on his/her work. Participation in Evaluation: I will cooperate with MHSL in evaluating the quality of the Student’s externship experience and the Student’s performance, including meeting regularly with the Faculty Supervisor or Externship Director by phone or in person, reviewing any student self-assessments, and completing evaluations. If the Student is being compensated for fieldwork, I will attend a mid-semester meeting among the Student, Faculty Supervisor and myself to review progress toward, re-assess, and adjust the Student’s learning goals. I understand that meeting will be organized by the Faculty Supervisor at a mutually convenient time and that the meeting must be in-person unless one or more parties is in a remote location, in which case the meeting may be held using video conferencing technology.

All sample collection and field testing activities shall be performed in accordance with the Department’s “Standard Operating Procedures for Field Activities” (DEP-SOP-001/01, January, 2018). The specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) to be used for this Contract shall be cited in the Contract QA Plan (see Section 6).
b. Field-Generated Quality Control (QC) Blanks are defined in DEP SOP FQ 1000 (subparts FQ 1211 – FQ 1214) and shall be composed and analyzed for sample collection activities associated with this Contract according to the requirements of part FQ 1230 (sections 1. – 2.3.1), DEP SOP FS 2100 (Part FS 2110, sec.

Field Activities a. All sample collection and field activities shall be performed in accordance with the Department’s DEP-SOP-001/01 FT 1000 General Field Testing and Measurement.
b. Any non-standard field procedure shall be submitted for review and approval in accordance with FA 2000 of the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures. The procedure must be approved by the Department before use.
c. Samples from criminal or enforcement cases will be transported to a laboratory designated by the State On-Scene Coordinator (SOSC) or will be turned over to the SOSC.
d. The SOSC may designate an alternate laboratory for use during this contract.
e. The following shall apply:
1) The Contractor shall ensure that at least five percent of the field-collected environmental samples associated with this project are used to prepare matrix spikes, and laboratory duplicates or matrix spike duplicates. Spike levels must be at concentrations specified below.
2) The Contactor shall ensure that the laboratory is provided with sufficient sample volume to perform the matrix-related quality control indicators at a frequency of 5% per test and matrix.
Field Activities. GENERAL: The following pay items will be used for general field activities. Unless otherwise specified, the following pay items INCLUDE:
a. All equipment, material, and labor costs.
b. Collection of field measurements by a qualified Technical Specialist or Field Technician familiar with surveying techniques.
c. Costs to incorporate collected data in the appropriate tables, maps, and cross- sections in any subsequent site reports.
d. Sample shipping.
e. Communication, Reproduction and Mailing costs.
f. Submittal of one (1) final report hard copy, and one (1) final report digital copy. Unless otherwise specified, the following pay items do NOT INCLUDE:
a. Mobilization of personnel and equipment to and from site (Use Mobilization pay item).

c. Well Gauging (Use Well Gauging pay item).

e. Waste disposal (Use Debris, Waste and Product Removal and Disposal pay item).

Field Activities. Leighton will conduct a site reconnaissance and geologic surface mapping of the alignment to observe existing conditions. This may encompass several probable alignments at once to provide input for final alignment selection.
