Hearing Committee. (a) The Ad Hoc Hearing Committee will consist of two (2) faculty members (which may include academic deans. other than the Xxxx proposing the discipline, and academic department chairs) selected by the Administration, two (2) faculty members selected by AAUP-CSU, and one (1) member from the Central State University community who has been selected by AAUP-CSU to serve as the Committee Chairperson.
(b) All members of the Hearing Committee should be appointed within fourteen (14) calendar days of the receipt of Notice of the proposed discipline by the faculty member. The hearing should be held within twenty-eight (28) calendar days from the appointment of the Committee. The recommendation of the Committee should be submitted within twenty-eight (28) calendar days of the hearing. The time limits listed herein may be extended upon written agreement of the parties.
(c) The faculty member may be represented by AAUP-CSU or legal counsel. The Administration may be represented by University legal counsel or other representative of its choice. AAUP-CSU will be entitled to designate an observer. The Administration will be entitled to designate an observer.
(d) The Committee may establish its rules of procedure, but such rules will protect the rights of both parties. The Committee may appoint a fact-finding panel to gather such information as the Committee feels may be of assistance in preparing for the hearing.
(e) The proceedings of the hearing shall be recorded and the faculty member and AAUP-CSU will be provided with a copy and written transcript of the record. During the conduct of the hearing, the faculty member or his or her representative and the Administration's representative are entitled to examine/cross-examine the person(s) testifying.
(f) The recommendation(s) of the Committee, including reasons, will be submitted in writing to the Xxxxxxx and Vice President for Academic Affairs with a copy to the faculty member involved and a concurrent copy to the President of AAUP-CSU. The Xxxxxxx and Vice President for Academic Affairs will make a recommendation to the President and to the Board of Trustees who will take final action.

Hearing Committee. (b) The choice of members of the hearing committee should be made on the basis of their individual objectivity, competence, and the regard in which they are held in the academic community. The committee shall elect its own chairperson who, with the consent of their fellow committee members, shall rule on all questions of procedure during the hearing consistent with the provisions herein.

If the faculty member elects to ask for a formal hearing on the statement of cause, such a hearing shall be before a committee of five (or six) members to be selected in the following manner: The Association shall select a group of eight faculty members; this group shall then choose, by random selection, five of its members to serve as the hearing committee. The faculty member is allowed a maximum of three peremptory challenges; committee members challenged shall then be replaced, by random selection, from among the remaining three members. In addition, the faculty member has the option of choosing a colleague to serve on the Committee (a sixth member). The Committee shall be constituted within fifteen days after the faculty member's request for a hearing. The Hearing Committee shall select a Chair from among its members.

Hearing Committee. If a timely appeal is submitted, a hearing committee consisting of five members shall hear the appeal. GME and the DIO shall coordinate with the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff as soon as practical to appoint four members, all of who must be Active Medical Staff and one which must be a director of a residency program other than the one in which the Resident is enrolled. The President of the House Staff Association or designee shall appoint one member, who shall be either a member of the Active Medical Staff or a resident. No individual who was materially involved in any of the facts underlying the notice of proposed action may serve on the hearing committee.
Hearing Committee. An ad hoc committee of nine tenured members of the teaching faculty, from a minimum of five different disciplines, shall be established to conduct the hearing and reach a decision. They shall be selected by a vote of the tenured faculty in an election conducted by the Professional Staff Organization. The committee shall elect its own chairperson. If procedural or technical issues need to be addressed, the committee shall be able to consult with legal counsel provided by the College for advisory purposes.
Hearing Committee. When formal proceedings begin to determine whether a tenured employee should be removed from the tenured position, a Hearing Committee will be established to investigate the charges. The Hearing Committee will consist of three members of the faculty; one member will be chosen by the President of the College, one member will be chosen by the tenured employee, and these two members will select a third member, who would become chair of the Hearing Committee. The Hearing Committee will receive legal advice, the cost of which will be assumed by the Federation, to ensure that it follows appropriate procedures.
Hearing Committee. The committee to conduct the hearing shall be an ad hoc committee consisting of five (5) members, two (2) of whom are chosen by the President of the College, two (2) by the D’Youville College Chapter of the AAUP and the fifth (5th) by agreement among the other four (4) members. All five (5) must have at least seven (7) years of full- time service in the College, if feasible. The committee shall establish within fourteen (14) calendar days after the administration has notified the D’Youville College Chapter of the AAUP that it wishes to continue dismissal proceedings. The committee will elect its own chairperson.
