Higher Qualifications Allowance. 35.1 An Employee who holds an additional post graduate qualification which is of direct relevance to their current position or functional work area, will be paid an allowance of 7.5% of the AHP1 Grade 1, Year 3 rate. 35.2 An Employee who holds a doctorate which is of direct relevance to their current position or functional work area will be paid an allowance of 10% of the AHP1 Grade 1, Year 3 rate. 35.3 An Employee who receives an allowance under subclause 35.2 above cannot also receive an allowance under subclause 35.1 above. 35.4 The higher qualifications allowance is to be paid during all periods of leave except sick leave beyond 21 days and long service leave.

(c) An employee who holds a doctorate which is of direct relevance to their current position or functional work area shall be paid an allowance in accordance with the High Qualification Allowance in Appendix 1 (d) The higher qualifications allowances are to be paid during all periods of paid leave except personal leave beyond 21 days and long service leave.

Higher Qualifications Allowance. Where an Audiologist or Speech Pathologist has a higher qualification, they shall be paid, in addition to the rates prescribed in Schedule 2, the following: For a Masters or PHD qualification, a fortnightly allowance of $70.00. This allowance is paid on a pro rata basis for part time employees. The highest qualification only shall be paid. Higher Qualifications Allowance. Dietitians Where a Dietitian has a higher qualification they shall be paid, in addition to the rates of pay prescribed in Appendix 1, the following: (i) for Graduate Diploma in Health Administration, Master of Science, Master of Science in Dietetics, or any other recognised equivalent qualification from a tertiary institution, the sum as set out in Appendix 2. Higher Qualifications Allowance. 19.1 Where an Employee holds higher qualifications which are not required for their current position but which are relevant to their current line of work, a Higher Qualifications Allowance will be payable. 19.2 The Higher Qualifications Allowance will be paid as a percentage on the Employee’s ordinary wage rate for that work, equivalent to the percentage difference between salary steps 1 and 3 in the Employee’s classification level.
