Qualification Allowance. An employee will be paid a one off payment of $400 on achievement of a Certificate Level Post Graduate Qualification, which has a benefit to the Medical Imaging Service. Only employees employed at the 22 April 2005 qualify for this payment. An employee shall not be required to be on duty for more than 7 consecutive days unless otherwise mutually agreed and will be entitled to 2 periods of 24 hours off duty each week unless otherwise mutually agreed.
Qualification Allowance. NOTE: see subclause 4.2 (Definitions) regarding the interpretation of relevance.
Qualification Allowance.
(1) A qualification allowance is payable to full time and part time Registered Nurses and Midwives, who hold or acquire a qualification, as defined below, that is relevant to the employee’s current practice or position or role.
(2) Quantum of Allowance % of base salary for RN Level 1 increment 8 Annual rate on and from 12 October 2020 Annual rate on and from 12 October 2021 Level 1 3.5% $3,131 $3,166 Level 2 4.5% $4,025 $4,070 Level 3 5.5% $4,920 $4,975 Subject to the provisions of this clause the rates prescribed in the above table will be paid fortnightly calculated in accordance with subclause 17(1) of this Agreement.
(3) The allowances prescribed in subclause (2) of this clause will be paid to part time employees on a pro rata basis according to hours worked.
(4) The qualifications that will attract this allowance are as follows:
(a) Level 1
(i) Hospital based postgraduate qualification of one year’s (or two academic semesters) duration, or the renal dialysis certificate.
(ii) Hospital based postgraduate qualification of six months duration, which have subsequently been replaced by qualifications involving one year’s (or two academic semesters) duration, will be included if at the time an employee undertook the course, a six month postgraduate qualification was all that was available and that the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer deems equivalent to a one year duration qualification.
(b) Level 2 Postgraduate qualifications awarded by a recognised university, or other agreed education provider, which must have been taken over a period of at least two semesters. Includes those Registered Mental Health Nurses who also hold a general nursing qualification (irrespective of the order in which the qualifications were obtained) who are working in an area where the qualification is applicable to their current area of practice. This may include, but not be limited to, a psychiatric unit or general xxxx with psychiatric patients.
(c) Level 3 Recognised Masters or PhD qualifications, which are relevant to the employee’s area of nursing practice or position or role.
(5) Unless specifically provided for in this clause, conversion degrees and non-tertiary postgraduate qualifications do not attract the allowance.
(6) Where an employee would be entitled to more than one of the allowances set out above, only the highest allowance will be payable.

Qualification Allowance. (a) A Registered Nurse Division 1 or a Registered Nurse Division 5 will be entitled to a qualification allowance set out in section C of Schedule B, as calculated in accordance with the below subject to the following:
(i) a Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 holding more than one qualification is only entitled to one qualification allowance, being the allowance for the highest qualification held having regard to paragraph (a)(ii).
(ii) it must be demonstrated that at least one component of the qualification is applicable to the relevant Employee's current area of practice. In situations where a component of a postgraduate qualification is relevant to that Employee's current area of practice an allowance is payable. In considering whether a component of the qualification is relevant, the nature of the qualification and the current area of practice of the qualification holder are the main criteria. Other considerations may include: • the clinical or other area of work of the Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5; • the classification and position description of the Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 ; • whether the qualification would assist the Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 in performing her or his role and/or assist in maintaining quality patient care and/or assist in the administration of the xxxx/unit/area in which the Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 is employed.
(iii) a Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 claiming entitlement to a qualification allowance must provide to the Employer evidence of that Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 holding the qualification for which the entitlement is claimed.
(iv) for the avoidance of doubt, a qualification allowance cannot be claimed by a Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 in respect of that Employee's base qualification leading to registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5.
(v) certificates obtained from training or education facilities (eg. infection control certificates from the Xxxxxxxx Centre) shall be recognised provided that the programmes are equivalent to a University/Graduation certificate and the training/education facility verifies that in writing.
(b) A Registered Nurse Division 1 or 5 who holds a Hospital Certificate or Graduate Certificate (or equivalent) shall be paid, in addition to their salary, 4.0% of the Base Rate.

Qualification Allowance. An Employee, classified as a Cleaner according to clause 12.1(d) acting as a leading hand cleaner who has successfully completed a Cleaning Supervisor’s Course at a Technical and Further Education (TAFE), or course deemed by the Employer to be of equivalent qualification, shall be paid an additional amount as set out in Table 3 – Other Rates and Allowances of Schedule 1 – Salary Scales and Allowances. Such an amount shall be part of the ordinary rate of pay for all Agreement purposes.
Qualification Allowance. The provisions of this subclause shall only apply to Employees employed as at the date of making of this Agreement. An Employee acting as a leading hand cleaner or caretaker who has successfully completed the Certificate IV in Cleaning Management, a course recognised under a previous Agreement, or a course deemed by the Employer to be of equivalent qualification, shall be paid an additional amount as set out in Item 12 of Table 2 – Other Rates and Allowances of Part H – Monetary Rates, per week or an amount as set out in Item 10 per day. Such amount shall be part of the ordinary rate of pay for all Agreement purposes.
Qualification Allowance. (a) A Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse who holds a certificate or qualification relevant to their role and position (which is in addition to the minimum qualification held by the Nurse for registration by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia) shall be paid, in addition to their base salary:
Qualification Allowance. (i) A Nurse Caregiver who holds a post graduate qualification in a clinical field, in addition to the qualification leading to their registration, shall be paid a continuing education allowance, subject to the following conditions set out below:
(a) the allowance is only payable where the qualification is accepted by the Employer to be directly relevant to the competency and skills used by the Nurse Caregiver in the duties of the position;
(b) a Nurse Caregiver holding more than one relevant qualification is only entitled to one allowance, being the allowance of the highest monetary value;
(c) a Nurse Caregiver claiming entitlement to a qualification allowance must provide evidence to the Employer that they hold that qualification;
(ii) Subject to the provisions in subclause (i) of this Clause, a Nurse Caregiver who holds a Master’s Degree, Graduate Diploma, Graduate Certificate or Doctorate shall be paid the sum set out in Items 11, 12 and 13 at Table 2: Allowances, at Appendix 1 dealing with Continuing Education Allowance.
(iii) The above allowances are not to be included in the Nurse Caregiver’s ordinary rate of pay. The allowances are payable during periods of paid leave taken by a Nurse Caregiver.
(iv) The continuing education allowance shall be considered salary-related allowances for the purpose of salary and salary related allowance increases that may occur from the first date of operation of this Agreement.
Qualification Allowance. 5.4.1 A fulltime, part-time or casual employee, may be eligible to receive the following qualifications allowance, subject to satisfaction of the criteria set out in this clause. These allowances do not cover entry level qualifications. The allowance is paid on a pro rata basis. Post Graduate Certificate – allowance payable per week in addition to base earnings Post Graduate Diploma or Degree (other than Allied Health Workers undergraduate degree) – allowance payable per week in addition to base earnings; and Masters or Doctorate – allowance payable per week in addition to base earnings.
5.4.2 The allowance is payable to an employee who holds a qualification from a course which is of at least one year's (or two academic semesters) duration as approved by the employer.
5.4.3 The allowance is only payable to the employee while they undertake duties that are relevant to the prescribed qualification.
5.4.4 Where an employee holds two or more relevant qualifications, the allowance is only payable in respect of one qualification. If the employee holds one qualification of a higher level, that qualification will be paid to the exclusion of the lower qualification.
5.4.5 Employees who believe they may be eligible for payment of a qualification allowance shall make application to the appropriate Manager. Applicants shall be required to provide appropriate supporting documentation attesting to their qualifications. Eligibility will be determined by the relevant Manager. In determining eligibility for the qualifications allowance, the Manager may also consider qualifications that do not meet the criteria of subclause 5.4.2.
5.4.6 Subject to production of supporting documentation being provided within four weeks of lodgment of the Collective Agreement or commencement, the employer will adjust previous payments back to the date of commencement. Any employee unable to provide proof of documentation within four weeks of engagement, will not be paid the allowance until such time that the supporting documentation(s) provided. The allowance will then be paid from the first pay period on or after the date of production.
5.4.7 Any disputes arising from this process shall be dealt with in accordance with Clause 3.1 – Grievance and dispute settlement procedure.
5.4.8 The Allied Health Workers Qualification Allowance will increase over the life of the Agreement from the first pay to commence on or after the listed dates. – 1 Sep-07 1 Jul-08 1 March 09 Post Graduate Certificate $...
