Holiday Coinciding with Paid Leave. Where a day that is a designated holiday for an Employee as defined in Article 18.01, falls within a period of leave with pay, the holiday shall not count as a day of leave.

Holiday Coinciding with Paid Leave. (a) Where a day that is a designated holiday for an Employee as defined in Article 19.01, falls within a period of leave with pay (for example vacation), the holiday shall not count as a day of leave. (b) If an Employee is regularly scheduled to work on a holiday, but is unable to work due to illness or injury which is not compensable under WCB or a private disability insurer, the Employee shall receive: (i) holiday pay which the Employee would have received if he/she had not been scheduled to work on the holiday; and (ii) sick leave, provided however, sick leave shall be paid at the straight time rate and hours will be deducted from the sick leave to which an Employee is entitled under Article 29.02.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An Employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double time and one-half (2½) for hours worked, plus a day off subject to this Agreement.

  • Holiday Falling on a Day of Rest ‌ (a) When a paid holiday falls on a regular full-time employee's day of rest, the employee shall be entitled to a day off with pay in lieu of the holiday. (b) If a regular full-time employee is called in to work on the day designated as the lieu day pursuant to (a) above, he/she shall be compensated at time and one-half for all hours worked.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.
