Holiday Qualifications. In order to be entitled to receive payment for these holidays, the employee must work her scheduled working day immediately preceding and the working day following the holiday unless on a leave of absence or absent due to illness.
Holiday Qualifications. In order to be entitled to receive payment for these holidays, the employee must work her scheduled shift before and the scheduled shift after the holiday unless on an approved leave of absence or absent due to a bona fide reason.

It is understood that the qualifying days for the Civic Holiday shall be the Employee’s scheduled shift immediately prior to and the Employee’s scheduled shift immediately after where the Civic Holiday is deemed to fall.

In order to be quali fied for holiday pay, an employee m ust have worked in the week before the week in which the holiday occurs, the week in which the holiday occurs, or in the week after the week in which the holiday occurs. In addition, the employee m ust work his scheduled work day before and after the holiday unless excused by the Employer or unless absent due to proven illness or injury. If the employee does not meeting the foregoing, they will not be entitled to the holi day pay.

In order to be entitled to receive payment for these holidays, the Employee must work his/ her scheduled working day immediately preceding or the working day succeeding the holiday unless on a leave of absence or absence due to illness. Employees wishing to take other religious holidays off may offer to work both Christmas and New Year’s Day and receive their selected holidays off instead.
Holiday Qualifications. For each month of employment in a qualifying year, a right to 2.08 days of holiday is accrued, which gives 25 days’ holiday (five weeks of holiday) of which the three weeks of holiday are given together in the holiday period from May 1 to September 30.*

(a) Employees are eligible for Holiday Pay effective first day of employment.
(b) Such employee works his/her last scheduled workday prior to and his/her next scheduled workday after such holiday within his/her scheduled workweeks. This condition shall not prevent payment of holiday pay to:
(i) an employee who has been absent from work because of verified personal illness for not more than three months prior to the week in which the holiday occurs and who works or reports for the Company's physical examination the next scheduled workday following the holiday; or
(ii) an employee who has been continuously absent from work for not more than two weeks prior to the week in which the holiday occurs and who is not at work either or both such work days due to approved absences for Medical Time Off, death in his/her family, paid personal time, layoff or union activity; or
(iii) an employee who is not at work on either or both such work days solely due to military encampment or jury duty; or
(iv) an employee who is absent from work on either the last scheduled workday prior to double consecutive holidays (when double consecutive holidays have been arranged under the provision of Article XI) or his next scheduled workday after such double consecutive holidays (in such case, the employee will be entitled to holiday pay only for the first of such double consecutive holidays if he/she works the last scheduled work day prior to that holiday, but not the next scheduled workday after the second holiday; and he/she will be entitled to holiday pay only for the second of such double consecutive holidays if he/she fails to work the last scheduled workday prior to the first such double consecutive holidays but works the next scheduled workday after the second of such double consecutive holidays).

a) absent on vacation -
b) absent on either of those days and such absence is authorized by the Employer -

18.02 An employee may carry over one week of vacation after December 31, of each year with the approval of their supervisor. Such approval will not be unreasonably denied. This (carry over) time must be used prior to March of the following year.
18.03 When an employee's scheduled vacation isinterrupted due toa serious illness requiring the employee to be an in-patient in a Hospital, the period of such hospitalization shall be considered sick leave provided the employee provides satisfactory medial documentation of the illness.
