Internal Substitutes. If a teacher is asked to substitute during his/her scheduled lunch or scheduled planning period per the master schedule for an absent teacher, the teacher will be compensated at the rate of $25.00 per period. (Refer to Payroll Procedures timeline)
Internal Substitutes. Employees whose absence is limited in duration (typically a portion of a school day) may be replaced by other full-time employees (internal substitutes). This arrangement must be handled by the building principal or his/her designee. Employees will be compensated for internal substituting at the rate of thirty-five cents (35) per class minute. Substitute payment will be included in that pay period’s paycheck when a teacher loses part of their prep time during that day that cannot be found elsewhere.
Internal Substitutes. Teachers shall be compensated at the rate of $15.00 per preparation period when they substitute. A time sheet must be completed and turned into the Office immediately after each internal substitute assignment.
Internal Substitutes. Teachers who agree to serve as internal substitutes will be paid at the rate of $25.00 per class period. Full time non-tenured teachers will be limited to no more than eighteen (18) times per year.
Internal Substitutes. A. Every reasonable effort shall be made to acquire or recruit substitutes for absent teachers. Except where the Superintendent and/or Principal deem it an emergency, a regularly employed teacher will not be required to cover for an absent teacher. At any time a teacher fills in during his/her planning period, he/she shall be paid at the rate of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per period.
B. In all buildings where students may be assigned to another class because of the unavailability of a substitute and the absence of the grade level teacher, where the receiving classroom gets six (6) or more additional students, the grade level teacher receiving the additional students shall receive an additional twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for the first class period or hour there are six (6) or more additional students temporarily assigned to his/her class. Each additional class period or hour after the first class period or hour, the grade level teacher receiving the additional students shall receive an additional ten dollars ($10.00) for each additional class period or hour there are six (6) or more additional students temporarily assigned to his/her class. Where six (6) or more students are assigned to another classroom because the students' teacher is assigned to an "Activity Day", the "Activity Day" assignment shall be considered an "absence" as that term is used in the preceding paragraph.
C. The compensation set forth in the above paragraphs, A and B, shall be paid to the employee within the next two (2) regular payroll periods.
Internal Substitutes. A teacher who is requested by the principal and agrees to cover a class for an absent teacher during his/her planning and conference period shall be compensated at the rate of $20.00 per work assignment.
Internal Substitutes. A. Each teacher may be required to provide substitute services in lieu of a planning period if assigned by the administration. The selection of the teacher shall first be from a staff volunteer list. If there are no qualified people on the list or individuals reject the assignment then the administration may assign a teacher.
B. If the need for a substitute exists within the first hour of the school day, attempts will be made to secure the services of a substitute teacher from other than the district staff. If no substitute teacher is available and if no staff volunteer is available, a rotating process will be used by the administration if possible to fill the assignment. This list used for the rotating process shall be current and available to staff upon request, during office hours.
Internal Substitutes. If there is the lack of substitute teachers, any qualified teacher who accepts a class that requires him/her to forfeit his/her preparation period shall be compensated at the rate of $5 for each 15 minutes. The administration will make a reasonable effort to find a substitute teacher before requiring a teacher to accept the class.
Internal Substitutes. Substitutes shall be paid at the hourly rate of Step 1 of the classification for which they are substituting. Substitute bus drivers shall be paid based on an average of 3.5 hours per day for 185 days, the rate for substitute drivers shall be calculated as identical to the hourly rate for drivers at Classification VII-A, Step 1.

C. Compensation shall be paid at the next regular pay period if appropriate documentation is submitted to the Business Office in a timely fashion. Compensation for internal substitution shall be paid at a rate of $0.67 per minute beginning in the 2022-2023 school year and for the duration of the 2022-2026 contract.
D. Licensed staff who substitute in the cafeteria during lunch shall be paid at the internal substitute rate.
