Leave for Union Negotiations. The Employer shall release up to three (3) employees, as selected by the Union, for the purpose of negotiations with the Employer and bargaining preparation with the Union. Leave of absence for the purpose of negotiations shall be with pay and without loss of seniority. On receipt of an invoice from the Employer, the Union shall reimburse the Employer for the actual cost of wages, benefits where applicable, CPP, EI and WCB premiums paid for the employee while participating in negotiations.

Leave for Union Negotiations. Up to two (2) Nurses from the Bargaining Unit may be designated by the Union, specifically to engage in bargaining unit collective bargaining for the renewal of the Collective Agreement. The participating Nurse(s) shall have no loss of group benefits for shifts absent while involved in direct negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement. The Employer will continue to pay the Nurses while in direct negotiations but will invoice the NSNU at their cost.
Leave for Union Negotiations. Up to three representatives designated by the Union shall not suffer loss of pay as a result of involvement in direct negotiations between the Employer and the Union.

The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Union. The Hospital will xxxx the local Union within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.
