LEAVES OF ABSENCE Bereavement Leave. 13.01 a) An employee who has completed probation may request a leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority when the employee requests it for good and sufficient reasons. A requested leave of absence shall not exceed ninety (90) calendar days, and shall not be unreasonably refused.

LEAVES OF ABSENCE Bereavement Leave. 31.01 All full-time and part-time employees shall receive a leave of absence of up to five (5) days in a seven (7) day period from work without loss of regular pay in the event of the death of a member of the immediate family. Immediate family shall be defined as the employee's spouse, (including common law spouse and same sex partner), child, step-child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law and son-in-law. In addition, up to two (2) additional days of leave without pay shall be granted for the purpose of travel.
