Level One - Principal. 1. A teacher believing himself wronged by an alleged violation of the express provisions of this Agreement may orally discuss the grievance with the building principal in an attempt to resolve same. 2. If no resolution is obtained or no oral discussion is held, the teacher shall reduce the grievance to writing and file it with the principal within ten (10) days of its alleged occurrence or within ten (10) days of when the grievant could have reasonably been expected to have knowledge of its occurrence. By mutual agreement between the Association and the District, the ten (10) day time period at the onset of the grievance may be extended. 3. The principal shall arrange a meeting with the grievant and/or designated representative and issue a written decision to the grievant and association representative within ten (10) days of receiving the written grievance. If the grievant is not satisfied with the principal's written response or no response is received, the grievant or Association may proceed to level two within ten (10) days of when the response was due.

Level One - Principal. 9.4.1 If the teacher(s) is not satisfied with the disposition of the perceived violation of the Negotiations Agreement by the building principal or supervising administrator in the informal procedure, a grievance may be filed within twenty (20) days. The teacher(s) may give written authorization to the Association to proceed with the grievance process on their behalf. A request for formal grievance meeting with the building principal or supervisory administrator will be submitted. This meeting shall be held within fifteen (15) school days of the filing of the grievance unless such time limits are extended by mutual agreement of the grievant and the principal, or supervisory administrator. 9.4.2 Either or both parties may tape the grievance proceeding at Level One and thereafter. The building principal or supervisory administrator may be accompanied by one other representative of the Administration. 9.4.3 Within ten (10) days of the meeting, the principal or supervisory administrator shall communicate the decision in writing to the grievant. 9.4.4 If the building principal chooses not to conduct a formal grievance at Level One, the principal or supervisory administrator shall refer the grievance to Level Two.

If, as a result of the discussion, the matter is not resolved to the satisfaction of the grievant within five (5) school days, he/she shall, within ten (10) school days, set forth his/her complaint in writing to the Principal or Supervisor. The Principal or Supervisor shall communicate the decision to the grievant in writing within five (5) school days of receipt of the written complaint. Failure to respond in the required amount of time shall automatically move the grievance to level two unless there is a mutual agreement for a delay or postponement.
Level One - Principal. A professional employee with a grievance shall present his grievance with the Association to his/her principal within ten (10) days after the cause of the grievance occurs, specifying the grievance and requesting a conference to discuss the grievance, either directly or through the Association's designated representative, with the objective of resolving the matter expeditiously. Within ten (10) days after presentation of the grievance to the principal, the principal shall make his decision and communicate the same to the employee presenting the grievance and the Association's designated representative. During those periods of time when the principal is not on duty, the grievance shall be presented directly to the Superintendent’s Designee at Level Two.
