Maintenance Mechanic. An employee who has been qualified by the employer and performs work as laid out in Appendix “B” of this Agreement. There shall be two classifications of Maintenance Mechanics: a) Maintenance Mechanic – Junior b) Maintenance Mechanic – Senior The Junior Maintenance Mechanic shall be paid first year apprentice wages plus benefits as per Appendix A of this Agreement and shall progress to a Senior Maintenance Mechanic after twelve (12) months employment under this agreement. The Senior Maintenance Mechanic shall be paid second year apprentice wages and benefits as per Appendix A of this agreement. The Maintenance Mechanic classification shall not replace the apprentice classification nor shall the Maintenance Mechanic classification become a pre-requisite prior to an Employee making application for apprenticeship in any trade covered by this Agreement. The ratio of Maintenance Mechanic to Journeypersons shall be 1 Mechanic for every 7 Journeypersons and Apprentices with the right to hire a minimum of one (1) Maintenance Mechanic. Foreperson: The selection of a Foreperson shall rest solely with the Employer. The Foreperson(s) rate of pay shall be as in Appendix A of this Agreement.

Maintenance Mechanic. Employees who are Qualified Mechanics in the maintenance of all transit vehicles, and, works at maintaining all Company transit vehicles to B.C. Transit specifications, eight (8) hours per day, five (5) days per week with consecutive days off. However, the maintenance employee can also be used as a spare driver.
Maintenance Mechanic. The County agrees to pay employees in the job classifications listed below, who provide documentation of an FDEP Water Distribution System Operator License, a five percent (5%) pay differential for each certificate designated as Level "II" and/or "I". In no event will an employee receive more than a total of a ten percent (10%) pay differential. Any cost involved in acquiring any certificate by an employee shall not be paid by the County. The intent of this article is not to doubly compensate an employee with a double "II" or a double "I" certificate. Maintenance Mechanic. (i) In the case of an employee who is hired for or permanently promoted to such job and is in the Company's judgement a certified, fully qualified Millwright and is qualified to perform simple welding pipe-fitting and blueprint reading shall be assigned to the Basic Level and paid the appropriate hourly rate for such level, and (ii) Progression from Basic Level to Intermediate Level shall occur on the first shift worked immediately following the completion of at least six (6) months of actual time worked as a permanent incumbent at the Basic Level of such job, and (iii) Progression from Intermediate Level to Standard Level shall occur on the first shift worked immediately following the completion of at least six (6) months of actual time worked as a permanent incumbent at the Intermediate Level of such job.
