MARKSMANSHIP BONUS.
A. Management shall pay the bonus indicated below to employees who meet the criteria established by the Los Angeles Police Department for each of the listed levels of shooting expertise: Marksman $8.00 biweekly Sharpshooter $16.00 biweekly Expert $32.00 biweekly Distinguished Expert $64.00 biweekly
B. Compensation will be paid beginning with the first full pay period of the month following the date of qualification and shall continue for 26 biweekly pay periods. After that period, the employee shall be allowed to requalify and receive the appropriate compensation accordingly. Requalification at the same or higher level by an employee at any time during the 26 biweekly pay periods shall entitle the employee to continue to receive the appropriate compensation for that level for the ensuing 26 biweekly pay periods. Employees will be compensated for only one level of expertise.

Employees must requalify for Bonus Pay in their assigned month of each year (January, February or March) to commensurate compensation.

B. Additional compensation shall be paid beginning with the first full payroll period of the month following the date of qualification and shall continue for 26 biweekly pay periods. After the 26th pay period, requalification must occur in order to continue receiving a marksmanship distinction and commensurate additional compensation. At any time, a Unit member may requalify at a higher level than the level for which they originally qualified. If a Unit member requalifies for a different level of marksmanship, the 26 biweekly period during which payment is made shall be reset.
C. Qualifying Unit members will be compensated for only one level of expertise.
D. This additional compensation shall be treated as an “Adds to Pay” and shall not be pensionable.
