MARKSMANSHIP BONUS. A. Management shall pay the bonus indicated below to employees who meet the criteria established by the Los Angeles Police Department for each of the listed levels of shooting expertise: Marksman $4.00 biweekly Sharpshooter $8.00 biweekly Expert $16.00 biweekly Distinguished Expert $32.00 biweekly

Unit members shall be eligible for a marksmanship distinction and bonus after meeting the criteria established by the Port Police Department in accordance with the following table. Compensation shall be paid beginning with the first full payroll period of the month following the date of qualification and shall continue for 26 biweekly pay periods. After the 26th pay period, requalification must occur in order to continue receiving a marksmanship distinction and commensurate compensation. At any time, a Unit member may requalify at a higher level than the level for which he/she originally qualified.

Current compensation rate shall be paid through the first full payroll period of July 2023, and shall be amended to the qualifying level whether higher or lower on the first pay period each July thereafter. Employees must requalify for Bonus Pay in their assigned month of each year (January, February or March) to commensurate compensation.

At any time, a Unit member may requalify at a higher level than the level for which he/she originally qualified. If a Unit member requalifies for a different level of marksmanship, the 26 biweekly period during which payment is made shall be reset.
