MEAT DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES. All of the terms and conditions of the Retail Food, Meat, Bakery, Candy and General Merchandise Agreement shall apply to Meat Department employees except as specifically set forth below.

MEAT DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES. A. Each shop shall have a Head Meat Cutter and he shall be a journeyman meat cutter and he may perform all the duties of, and shall direct the work, movements and operations of the meat department employees. B. A journeyman is one who has qualified as a skilled meat cut­ ter. His duties shall include the receiving, cutting, grinding, slic­ ing, preparing, processing, sealing, wrapping, bagging, pricing, fabricating and serving of all items in the meat department and the performance of all work incidental thereto. C. Any apprentice must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, learning all details and developing skills for performing the duties of a journeyman meat cutter. The Employer agrees to assign each apprentice to various jobs in order to give him the opportunity to qualify as a journeyman. The apprenticeship training period shall be for a two-year period. In cases where the apprentice has not qualified as a journey­ man at the end of the apprenticeship training period in the judge­ ment of the Employer, such apprenticeship period may be ex­ tended an additional six (6) months and the apprentice shall be paid at the top apprentice rate during this period. Nothing in this Section C wil prevent the Employer from ad­ vancing an apprentice to a journeyman before the end of the ap­ prenticeship training period if, in the judgement of the Employer, the apprentice is qualified. D. Employees engaged in weighing, wrapping, pricing and dis­ playing shall be eighteen (18) years of age or over. Wrappers may be employed to wrap, scale, price, label, display, board, tray, bag poultry and other items, stock meats and slice cheese, bacon and delicatessen items with slicing machines, and to clean work tables and any equipment that they work with, including removable racks and display cases, glass, and to disassemble and clean re­ frigerated conveyor troughs, but excluding cleaning electiric saws, grinders, tenderizers and xxxxx machines. Wrappers shall not be permitted to cut any red meat, pork, lamb, poultry, rabbits, or fish. Employees in the Weighers and Wrappers classification will have the opportunity to transfer without loss of seniority or re­ duction in straight-time hourly wage rate to the apprentice class­ ification when a vacancy exists, provided they have the skills, abilities, and physical capacity to perform the work.   • Student Employees A student employee is an employee who is hired for short-term work which is not ongoing. He/she is normally in the process of completing his/her post-graduate studies and is expected to return to his/her studies after an agreed employment period.   • Authorized Employees Contractor acknowledges that Section285.530, RSMo, prohibits any business entity or employer from knowingly employing, hiring for employment, or continuing to employ an unauthorized alien to perform work within the State of Missouri. Contractor therefore covenants that is not knowingly in violation of subsection 1 or Section 285.530, RSMo, and that it will not knowingly employ, hire for employment, or continue to employ any unauthorized aliens to perform work on the Project, and that its employees are lawfully to work in the United States.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Industrial Relations Training Leave Union Delegate/Employee Representative shall have access to industrial relations training in accordance with Appendix E hereof.

  • Company Employees Each Party shall not, directly or indirectly solicit for employment, any employee of the other Party who has been directly involved in the performance of this Agreement during the Term and for one year after the earlier of the termination or expiration of this Agreement or the termination of such individual's employment, with the other Party. It shall not be a violation of this provision if any employee responds to a Party's general advertisement of an open position.

  • Access to Employees Staff representatives of the Union shall be allowed to visit work areas of employees during working hours and confer on conditions of employment to the extent that such visitations do not disrupt the work activities of the area being visited. Prior to entering the work area, the representative shall receive permission from the appropriate department head or his/her designee stating the reason(s) for such visitations. Permission shall not be unreasonably denied.

  • Employee Safety ‌ A. All incidents of workplace violence, unsafe equipment or job conditions shall be brought to the attention of the immediate supervisor, or in their absence, the next higher level of supervision. Should the unsafe condition not be corrected within a reasonable time, the equipment or job practice shall be brought to the attention of the Safety Committee. Additionally, employees shall report any exposure to known or suspected carcinogens in writing on a separate form. A copy of the form shall be sent to the Local Safety Committee. Employees have the right to file complaints with the State Department of Labor and Industry OSHA Division. B. Any protective equipment or clothing, e.g., safety glasses or other types of eye protection (including prescription lenses and frames when required), safety helmets, safety vests, welding gloves and aprons, safety shoes, ear protection, protective gloves, etc., shall be provided and maintained by the Appointing Authority whenever such equipment is required as a condition of employment either by the Appointing Authority, by OSHA, or by the Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration. The employee shall have the responsibility to use all such provided protective equipment (see Article 20, Section 11). C. All employees who are injured or who are involved in an accident during the course of their employment shall file a first report of injury and/or an accident report, on forms furnished by the Appointing Authority, no matter how slight the incident. A summary of the first report of injury and/or accident report shall be furnished to the Safety Committee. All such injuries shall be reported to the employee's immediate supervisor and any necessary medical attention, including transportation if required, shall be arranged. The Appointing Authority shall provide assistance to employees in filling out all necessary Workers' Compensation forms, when requested. D. Any medical examination required by the Appointing Authority shall be at no cost to the employee and the Appointing Authority shall receive a copy of the medical report. Upon request, the employee shall receive a copy of the medical report. E. During every four (4) hour period in which an employee spends all their time on a computer, the employee will be given a five (5) minute alternative work assignment or if this is not practicable, a five (5) minute rest period scheduled to interrupt continuous operation of the machine. This five (5) minute rest period is in addition to the formal rest period provided in Article 5, is not cumulative, and cannot be used at the beginning or end of a shift, formal rest breaks, or a lunch period. F. Any pregnant employee assigned to work with Department of Corrections' inmates, may request reassignment to alternate work within her seniority unit. The Appointing Authority will attempt to accommodate such a request. Such reassignment shall not be subject to the provisions of Article 12, Section 4. In the event that such reassignment is not practicable, the employee shall have the right to request an unpaid leave of absence, pursuant to Article 10, Section 0X.

  • Official Personnel File Only one (1) official personnel file shall be kept for each employee at the appropriate personnel office. Records of previous discipline not found in the official personnel file cannot be used against an employee in any future disciplinary proceeding. Grievances shall not be kept in the employee’s official personnel file. Employees shall be informed as to where their personnel file is maintained.
