Membership – Current Employees. All employees covered by this Agreement, who are now members or become members of the Union shall, as a condition of employment, upon the effective date, remain members in good standing in the Union or agree to pay the Union a fair share/representation fee. “In good standing,” for the purposes of the Agreement, is defined as the tendering of Union dues or a fair share/representation fee on a timely basis. Employees who fail to comply with this requirement shall be discharged by the Employer within thirty (30) days after receipt of written notice to the Employer from the Union, unless the employee fulfills the membership obligations set forth in this Agreement.
Membership – Current Employees. All nurses who are members of the Association as of November 6, 2009, and all nurses who voluntarily join the Association during the term of this Agreement must retain their membership in good standing. Good standing is herein defined as the tendering of Association dues on a timely basis. Nurses who fail to comply with this requirement shall be discharged by the Employer within thirty (30) days after receipt of written notice to the Employer from the Association. Any such discharge shall be deemed for just cause.

All employees shall, within thirty-one (31) days after hire or the signing of this Agreement, as a condition of employment, become and remain members in good faith and understanding of the Union. Any such employee may, in lieu of maintaining actual membership in the Union, pay to the Union the periodic dues uniformly required as a condition of Union membership.
