Military and National Service Leave Sample Clauses

Military and National Service Leave. A member of this unit who leaves his position for extended compulsory active duty in the military service of the United States during a state of war or national emergency, or for periods of required military training, shall be granted a military leave without pay for the duration of his commitment in accordance with the terms of applicable laws.

Military and National Service Leave. A. A Bargaining Unit Member who leaves his/her position for military service shall be entitled to unpaid leave and reemployment rights in accordance with applicable laws, including the Uniform Services Employment and Reemployment Act as amended from time to time. The employee whose employment is interrupted by a period of military service in the uniformed services shall be permitted, upon request, to use during such period of service any vacation or personal leave with pay as he or she may have accrued before the commencement of such service. The employee may also have other rights under federal and state military reemployment laws. Details can be obtained by contacting the Office of Human Resources.

  • Military Service Leave The Employer and the Union agree that the matter of leave of absence for an employee during the period of his/her military service with the armed forces of the United States, and of his/her reinstatement thereafter, shall be governed by applicable statutes.

  • Community Service Leave Community service leave is provided for in the NES.

  • Emergency Service Leave ‌ Where employees' services are required for emergency operations by request from the Provincial Emergency Program or appropriate police authority, leave from work as required may be granted without loss of basic pay. If any remuneration, other than for expenses, is received, it shall be remitted to the Employer.

  • Governmental Service Leave Leave without pay may be granted for government service in the public interest, including but not limited to the U.S. Public Health Service or Peace Corps leave.

  • Special maternity leave (a) Where the pregnancy of an employee not then on maternity leave terminates after 28 weeks other than by the birth of a living child, then the employee may take unpaid special maternity leave of such periods as a registered medical practitioner certifies as necessary.
