Non-patrol. When a holiday falls on the regular day off for an employee who is filling a non-Patrol assignment, and the employee is not required to work that day, that employee will normally flex his or her regular day off to account for the holiday (i.e., will use the 8 hours of holiday time to take time off on another day during the same workweek). However, with the approval of their supervisor, and subject to the operational needs of the Department, employees on a non-Patrol assignment may work their full workweek and receive an additional eight (8) hours of pay for the holiday (i.e., 40 hours for time worked plus 8 hours for the holiday).

Non-patrol. Bureau All other employees not assigned to the Patrol Bureau shall work five/two (5-2) schedule, each daily tour being eight (8) hours in length. Such schedule will consist of a two (2) shift operations, forty (40) hours per week, Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday standby. Their overtime rate shall, also, be determined by utilizing the thirty-seven and one-half hour figure. Employees not working ten (10) hour shifts shall be paid time and one-half for all overtime work over eight (8) hours per twenty-four hour period, provided such overtime is one-half (1/2) hour or more beyond the regular scheduled work time, and at the rate of time and one-half for every successor half hour thereafter, unless specifically modified below in Sections E and F.

  • Overtime Premium and No Pyramiding Subject to any superior conditions, the overtime rate shall be time and one-half (1-1/2) the employee's straight-time hourly rate. Where an employee is required to work additional overtime contiguous to an overtime shift within a twenty-four (24) hour period, the employee will be compensated at the rate of double time his or her straight time hourly rate for all additional contiguous overtime hours worked.
