Notice to Parents/Guardians. At the time of the suspension, a school employee shall make a reasonable effort to contact the parent/guardian by telephone or in person. Whenever a student is suspended, the parent/guardian shall also be notified in writing of the suspension. (Education Code 48911) This notice shall state the specific offense committed by the student. (Education Code 48900.8) In addition, the notice may state the date and time when the student may return to school.
Notice to Parents/GuardiansAt all times it is operational, the School will have posted on the Internet information concerning the rights of parents and guardians under the federal Elementary Secondary Education Act (ESEA), if applicable, and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Acts (FERPA), and will update the posting as quickly as possible whenever the information changes. The School will also provide a hardcopy of the information to each family at the beginning of each school year.
Notice to Parents/Guardians. The District will draft and disseminate an EL Notice to Parents/Guardians, which will describe the District’s educational program and design for EL students and specify the interventions, modifications, and services that are available to EL students who are not making expected progress. The EL Notice to Parents/Guardians will contain information about how parents/guardians can make complaints or otherwise express dissatisfaction with the District’s EL program and will state that compensatory ELD services may be available in certain situations. The EL Notice to Parents/Guardians will also include an assurance that parents/guardians will receive a response or remedy to their complaints/ expressions of dissatisfaction. The EL Notice to Parents/Guardians and related communications with parents/guardians will be translated for Limited English Proficient parents/guardians in their respective languages in a manner that is consistent with the District’s obligations under Title VI. Reporting Requirement IV(A): Within 30 calendar days of OCR’s approval of the District’s EL Plan required by Term II, the District will submit to OCR, for review and approval, a copy of the draft EL Notice to Parents/Guardians. The District agrees to fully and promptly respond to OCR’s concerns, if any, until OCR notifies the District that the EL Notice to Parents/Guardians is approved. Reporting Requirement IV(B): Within 15 calendar days of OCR’s approval of the EL Notice to Parents/Guardians, the District will issue the notice and provide OCR with documentation that the District has disseminated the EL Notice for Parents/Guardians. Such documentation may include copies of letters, emails, newsletters, webpages, etc. The District agrees to fully and promptly respond to OCR’s concerns, if any, until OCR notifies the District that no further reporting is required for Reporting Requirement IV(B).
Notice to Parents/Guardians. 1. The District’s Code is available in hard copy and on the District’s website. Students receive additional information about student responsibilities and behavior expectations in Student Handbooks, which are unique to each school site. The District will revise these documents to reflect any changes in disciplinary policies and practices made under this Agreement, as necessary, and continue its existing practice of notification to parents and students. 2. The District will develop a means to inform the public on data concerning referrals for discipline, Help/SAFE room and ICE assignments, out of school suspensions, expulsions, and referrals to law enforcement, including the most frequent reasons leading to exclusionary discipline and other factors determined by the District and/or the Consultant. The data will be disaggregated by race/ ethnicity, school, and/or grade level. The District will consider, but is not limited to, publishing a “data dashboard” or some other means of information dissemination on its website or providing reports at Board meetings and other relevant public District forums. 3. The District will provide notice to parents and guardians about the availability of all sources of information regarding discipline, including the information required by Section G.2, contact information for the District’s Discipline Supervisor and the District office administrator, and the right to file complaints of unlawful discrimination and denial of due process regarding the implementation of discipline policies. This notice will be posted on the District’s website and will be mailed annually to all parents and guardians. • By August 15, 2014, and until the monitoring of this Agreement is closed, the District will provide a copy of the written notices pursuant to Sections G.1 and G.3, and documentation confirming the creation of the District’s dashboard or comparable information system pursuant to Sections G.2 and G.3.
Notice to Parents/Guardians. Within 10 days of the effective date of this Agreement, the District will publish on the home page of its public website and on all school websites a summary of this Agreement with a link to the United States’ website to access the full text of this Agreement.
