Opportunities for Overtime. Overtime opportunities shall be made available to employees within a school and within a specific job classification as equitably as possible and rotated on the basis of efficiency ratings and seniority. However, overtime opportunities for SECAs may take into account existing student assignments. The least senior employees may be required to work overtime if a sufficient number of senior employees choose not to work.

Opportunities for Overtime. 5a EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION OF OVERTIME Opportunities for overtime work in each building shall be distributed on a fair and equitable rotation among all full-time custodians in that building. Custodians who wish to be contacted for overtime work shall annually place a letter stating their desire for overtime with the Facilities Supervisor. Full-time custodians with letters on file will be assigned on a seniority rotation basis only after regular full-time custodians in the building have waived the opportunity for overtime. The Board shall be deemed to have met its obligation to offer overtime in order of rotation by contacting the employee, in order of rotation, in person, if the employee is working at the time the assignments are being made, or by making an attempt to reach the employee at the last telephone number provided by the employee to the Board. If a full-time custodian refuses an overtime assignment when offered, or cannot be reached by telephone if the full-time custodian is off duty at the time the assignment is made, he/she shall be deemed to have forfeited his/her opportunity during that rotation, and shall not be offered overtime again until his/her turn in the next rotation. In the event of any dispute regarding assignment of overtime, the only remedy that shall be available is the offer to the employee of an equal number of hours of additional future overtime to provide a balance in the distribution of overtime.

  • Compensation for Overtime Assigned overtime is designated as those hours over the regular hours of work which are requested of the employee by management. Assigned overtime worked shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1 1/2).

  • Equalization of Overtime Overtime shall be equalized as much as possible within each division. The parties agree that when bargaining unit employees work overtime in divisions other than his/her regular division, then those hours of overtime worked are to be figured into the employee’s overtime hours in his/her regular division for the purpose of equalizing the overtime within the division. (a) Employees shall be required to provide one (1) telephone number in order to be contacted for call-out assignments. Employees at their option may provide a second telephone number at which to be contacted. However, failure to provide a second number shall not be considered a loss and/or denial of an overtime opportunity. (b) Failure to respond and a refusal to any call-out/overtime opportunity shall be charged against the employee as if worked. (c) Employees who respond to the call/out overtime and actually work shall be charged for hours worked. (d) Employees who are off work due to vacation, compensatory time, sick leave for someone other than themselves or light duty (providing the call-out assignment is consistent with the applicable light duty restrictions), shall at their choice be available for call-out situations. If the employee chooses to work the call-out, he/she will be charged the overtime worked. Also, an employee who is off due to military service is considered not available for overtime and shall not be charged overtime hours. Employees transferring to a different division shall receive for purposes of overtime equalization the average amount of overtime worked that the existing personnel within the division and classification possess at the time of transfer in order to equalize overtime under Article 11. For the purposes of this Agreement, any refusal of overtime in other divisions will be charged to the employee in his/her regular division as if he/she had actually worked those hours, in accordance with Article 12(E) (Temporary Reassignments).

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Cash and Incentive Compensation (a) All payments referenced in this Agreement are subject to applicable tax withholdings and authorized or required deductions.

  • Daily Overtime All employees shall be paid the applicable overtime rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day.

  • Payment for Overtime 1. Except as provided in 2.C.3., below, overtime shall be compensated at one and one-half (1 1/2) times the regular rate. 2. Except as provided in 2.C.3., below, for all regular, limited-term and probationary employees, overtime may be converted to compensatory time or paid for at the option of the agency/department. Consideration shall be given to effectuating the wishes of employees. The maximum number of CTO hours which may be accrued by any employee is eighty (80). If an employee accrues 80 hours of CTO, he/she cannot accrue additional CTO until he/she uses some of the hours in his/her bank; instead, employees will be paid for all overtime work performed in excess of that amount. 3. Overtime hours worked by extra help employees shall be paid. 4. Compensatory time earned and accrued by an employee in excess of thirty-two (32) hours may be scheduled off for an employee by his or her agency/department; however, consideration shall be given to effectuating the wishes of those employees requesting specific compensatory time off periods. 5. No scheduled compensatory time off will be cancelled except in cases of emergency. 6. In no case may an employee's work schedule be changed during the workweek when the purpose of such change is to avoid overtime compensation. 7. Time worked as overtime shall not be used to earn fringe benefits or to serve out probation or merit increase periods. Compensatory time off may be used as part of the established workweek to earn fringe benefits and to serve out probationary and merit increase periods. 8. An employee separating from the County service shall be paid for accumulated compensatory time in a lump sum payment.

  • Sharing of Overtime Overtime work shall be allocated equitably to qualified employees considering their availability and location.
