Other Approved Absence. Upon application and written approval of the appointing authority, an employee may be granted leave of absence without pay. Continuous service credit shall not accrue during the period of leave. Except as otherwise provided above, the provisions of Personnel Memorandum 00-2 (incorporated as Appendix B), will be in effect and it is hereby incorporated by reference.

Other Approved Absence. Upon application and approval of the appointing authority, an employee may be granted leave of absence without pay. Such leave will not normally exceed twelve (12) continuous months. Continuous service credit will not accrue during the period of leave. Approval of said leave of absence will not be unreasonably withheld.
Other Approved Absence. Leaves of absence may also be granted for other miscellaneous reasons. Application by the employee for such approved absence should be made in writing to the immediate supervisor. The granting of the leave shall be the sole prerogative of the Company. If a leave of absence is granted under the above conditions, the cost of all transportation and other expenses shall be borne by the employee; the employee's pay shall cease upon the employee's last hour worked; and no allowance of any kind shall be paid to the employee during the leave. Failure to return from leave of absence on the date specified, unless prior approval of the resident Project Manager has been obtained, shall be just cause for discharge.
Other Approved Absence. Employees may be granted unpaid leave in increments of up to thirty (30) days. Application for such leave should be made to Human Resources in accordance with the provisions of this agreement. Continuous service and seniority privileges shall accumulate during the leave. Approval is dependent on the reason and satisfaction of operational requirements.
Other Approved Absence. Employees with thirty (30) days or more continuous service credit may be granted a leave of absence without pay for death in the family, quarantine, marriage, or voluntary service with a government agency. Leaves of absence may also be granted for other miscellaneous reasons. Application for such approved absence should be made to the immediate supervisor in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. Seniority privileges and continuous service credit shall accumulate during such leaves of absence for a maximum of twelve (12) months.

  • Reporting Absence Staff who cannot report to work because of sickness or other reasons are expected to telephone within fifteen (15) minutes of their normal starting time, to advise their supervisor of the expected time of their return to work. Staff members who commence work at 16:00 hours or later will make every effort to inform their supervisor(s) of their pending absences as early in the day as possible, and no later than 12:00 hours for the 16:00 hour or 18:00 hour shifts, or 15:00 hours for the midnight shift. However, employees failing to provide notice as stipulated in this Article through circumstances beyond their control shall not be deemed to have violated any of the terms of this Agreement. Staff should inform their supervisor of the reason for their absence. In the event of illness, exact medical reasons need not be given.
