OVERALL SCHOOL MODEL. The Parties agree to collaborate in developing, supporting, and operating Seagoville High School (“Program”). The Program’s mission is to provide all students with an education that begins in grade 9, continues through high school completion with a high school diploma, and culminates in attainment of an associate degree in Business Administration, thus preparing students to succeed in college and/or a career. The program also includes actual work experiences designed to prepare students for positions in the Business Administration field. The Program is open to students of all backgrounds and abilities, including at-risk students, students who are highly motivated and capable but may need additional assistance to realize their potential, students for whom a smooth transition into postsecondary education is now problematic, students whose family obligations keep them at home, students for whom the cost of college is prohibitive, and students whose enrollment is not based on merit, discipline, attendance, or teacher recommendation, English language learners, and students with disabilities. The primary point of entry is the ninth grade. The Program admits approximately 100-125 students each year into the 9th grade class, and has approximately 100-125 students in each grade level, and has achieved full capacity at approximately 400-500 students. The Program’s curriculum and support program is designed to support a wide range of students in earning a high school diploma, an associate degree, and the work experience needed to be a highly qualified candidate for career-track employment in the Business Administration field. All college courses offered to students while enrolled in the Program will be free of charge to students and their families. All Dallas College fees for courses offered to students under this Agreement will be defrayed by Dallas College scholarships for students and their families. Dallas ISD will be responsible for covering fees incurred by student course retakes. The Parties will work together to develop, evaluate, and revise the School’s Scope & Sequence plan, which will identify specific high school and college courses and work experiences that students will participate in each year as part of their regular school program. The School' s mission is to provide all students with an education that begins in grade 9, continues through high school completion with a high school diploma, and culminates in attainment of an associate degree and/or dual credit hours toward the associate degree or bachelor degree as well as an industry-based certification thus preparing students to succeed in college and/or a career. The program also includes appropriate work-based educational experiences, at all grade levels, designed to prepare students for positions in identified fields. The School is open to students of all backgrounds and abilities, including students who are at risk of dropping out of school as defined by the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) and who might not otherwise go to college. This includes students for whom a smooth transition into postsecondary education is problematic, students whose family obligations keep them at home, students for whom the cost of college is prohibitive, students whose enrollment is not based on merit, discipline, attendance, or teacher recommendation, students who are English language learners, and students with disabilities. All college courses offered to students while enrolled in the School will be provided to students free of charge. The Parties will work together to develop, evaluate, and revise the School's Scope & Sequence plan, which will identify specific high school and college courses and work experiences that students will participate in each year as part of their regular school program. The program also includes authentic work experiences designed to prepare students for positions in the Advanced Technologies & Manufacturing field. The School is open to students of all backgrounds and abilities, including struggling learners, English language learners, and students with disabilities. The primary point of entry is the ninth grade. The School’s curriculum and support program is designed to support a wide range of students in earning a high school diploma, certified industry certification(s), an associate degree, and the work experience needed to be a highly qualified candidate for career-track employment in the Advanced Technologies & Manufacturing field. All college courses offered to students while enrolled in the School will be free of charge to students and their families. The Parties will work together to develop, evaluate and revise the School’s Scope & Sequence plan, which will identify specific high school and college courses and work experiences that students will participate in each year as part of their regular school program. Xxxxxxx College and Xxxxxxx ISD will work with industry partners (i.e. XXXXXXX CHEMICAL, Texas Operations) to make work-based learning a viable method for helping students meet academic standards. MOU’s with industry partners will be reviewed by Xxxxxxx College and the Kilgore ISD annually and clearly articulate the requirements outlined in the P-TECH website published 4-year crosswalk and 6-year crosswalk.
