Payment for Unused Personal Leave. If a member is laid off, terminated, or separates service, the member will be compensated for unused personal leave at the rate of pay at the time of the layoff, termination or separation. The member must provide at least ten (10) calendar dayswritten notice prior to resignation in order to receive this compensation. In the event of a member's death, such compensation shall be paid to the member's surviving spouse, or secondarily, to his or her estate. A member will not be compensated for unused personal leave if he or she resigns or is terminated within his/her one (1) year probationary period.
Payment for Unused Personal Leave i. Employees shall be compensated at a rate of fifty dollars ($50) per day for unused personal leave up to a maximum of three (3) days per year.   • Unpaid Personal Leave Where an employee has exhausted all paid personal leave entitlements, they are entitled to take unpaid personal leave to care for members of their immediate family or household who are sick and require care and support or who require care due to an unexpected emergency. The employer and the employee shall agree on the period. In the absence of agreement, the employee is entitled to take up to two days (up to a maximum of 16 hours) of unpaid leave per occasion, provided the requirements of 7.2.5(a) and 7.2.5(b) are met.

  • Extended Personal Leave Leave without pay for up to one (1) year may be granted to a teacher provided said teacher has been actively employed for five (5) continuous contract years preceding the granting of this leave and has not been granted an extended part-time leave within that period. Application for said leave shall include a statement indicating the purpose of the leave and shall be submitted, except in unusual circumstances, as determined by the District, thirty (30) days prior to the date the leave is to commence.

  • Personal Leave Written request for a personal leave of absence without pay will be considered on an individual basis by the Hospital.
