PERS "Pick-Up" and "Pick-Up" Under IRC Section 414 (h) (2) 22 The County shall "pick-up" the employee contribution to PERS , six percent (6%), 23 as permitted by ORS 238.205. The parties acknowledge that the pick up payment is inapplicable 24 to employees who are not PERS members due to insufficient service. If for any reason the “pick 25 up” shall become no longer legally available, the County shall on the last payroll period of this 26 Agreement increase the wages of any affected employees by six percent (6%) and return to the 27 limited “pick up” in effect on June 30, 1998, including but not limited to the terms of compensation 28 then in effect for non-PERS members. Pursuant to ORS 238.205(5) and (6), the parties agree 66 1 and acknowledge that employee compensation was reduced in order to generate the funds 2 needed to make these employee contributions to the employee accounts; the employer will file 3 any required notices with the Public Employees Retirement Board. 4 To the extent allowable by law, the required employee contribution of six percent 5 (6%) of wages to OPSRP is deemed to be “picked up” by the County for the limited purposes of 6 Section 414(h)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code and any related federal or state tax policies.

  • Membership The Committee shall include nine (9) members - five (5) representatives from CUPE/SCFP and four (4) representatives from the CTA. Up to two (2) advisors from the Ministry of Education shall act in a resource capacity to the committee. Other persons may attend meetings in order to provide support and resources as mutually agreed. Up to one (1) representative from each of the four (4) employee bargaining agencies at the other education workers tables will be invited to participate on the Committee.

  • Career Development Leave (a) Career development refers to an activity which, in the opinion of the Employer, is likely to be of assistance to the individual in furthering his or her career development and to the organization in achieving its goals. The following activities shall be deemed to be part of career development:

  • Career Development The City and the Union agree that employee career growth can be beneficial to both the City and the affected employee. As such, consistent with training needs identified by the City and the financial resources appropriated therefore by the City, the City shall provide educational and training opportunities for employee career growth. Each employee shall be responsible for utilizing those training and educational opportunities made available by the City or other institutions for the self- development effort needed to achieve personal career goals.

  • Membership Dues Association membership dues, as explicitly approved by the Trustees;

  • Union Membership Every employee who is now or hereafter becomes a member of the Union shall maintain membership in the Union as a condition of employment, and every new employee whose employment commences hereafter shall, within thirty (30) days after the commencement of employment, apply for and maintain membership in the Union, as a condition of employment, provided that any employee in the appropriate bargaining unit, who is not required to maintain membership or apply for and maintain membership in the Union, shall, as a condition of employment, tender to the Union the periodic dues uniformly required to be paid by the members of the Union.

  • Eligibility for Membership Membership in the Sick Leave Bank shall be extended to any certificated employee of the School District who has accumulated one (1) day of personal sick leave as defined by Idaho Code 33-1216 and 33-1217.
