PHYSICAL STANDARDS. CATEGORY II PEACE OFFICERS 9.5.1 Officers in job classifications eligible for membership under this Agreement are responsible for maintaining their bodies to the appropriate physical standards as indicated in Nevada POST, the NRS, and applicable Department/Division policies and procedures. 9.5.2 Category II Peace Officers who are currently required to attend an annual physical appointment under NRS 617 shall continue to do so. Annual physicals will be scheduled during working hours and the Employer will be responsible for all wages and other compensation during their attendance at such examinations. Officers are responsible for compliance with any orders given to them by the certified occupational health physician conducting the annual physical.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS. The physical standards required of a Flight Attendant shall be no less than the standards established by the FAA. A Flight Attendant shall maintain the ability to perform all required duties.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS. A. Physical and/or psychological examinations may be requested by the City, for an employee, at any time after the date of hire, in the discretion of the Chief of Police and subject to the approval of the City Manager. The examination shall be paid for by the City and it shall be at the City's discretion as to what the examination will include. B. Determination of physical and/or psychological fitness to perform the work of the position will be by a physician or a physician designated by the Human Resources Director. C. When an employee of the City is reported by the examining physician to be physically and/or psychologically unable to perform the essential functions and duties of the position for which he/she is employed, such employee, may, within five (5) working days from the date of his/her notification of such determination by the examining physician indicate, in writing, to the Human Resources Director his/her intention to submit the questions of his/her physical and/or psychological condition to a physician of his/her choice. D. In the event that there is a difference of opinion between the employee's physician and the City's physician, the City Manager, shall select a third physician to examine the employee. E. Subject to Article 5, Grievance & Arbitration Procedure, the City Manager shall have the final and binding authority based upon the agreement of a majority of two of the three physicians, to determine the physical and/or mental ability of the employee to perform the essential functions and duties of the position for which he/she is employed. An employee determined to be physically or mentally unable to perform the essential functions and duties of the position in which he/she is employed, with or without reasonable accommodation—shall be, as further reasonable accommodation, offered reassignment to a vacant position, if one exists, provided, however, that the employee is otherwise qualified for the position, and able to perform the essential functions and duties of that position. In the event there are no positions available for which the employee is otherwise qualified and can perform the essential functions and duties, with or without reasonable accommodation, then the employee shall be placed in a lay-off status pursuant to Article 16 of this agreement.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS. ‌ A. The physical standards of an active pilot will be the standards established by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), including its waiver/ exemption policy. B. If the Company reasonably questions the physical or mental fitness of a pilot, it may send him to a qualified, FAA-approved Medical Examiner at the Company's expense after the Company confers with the MEC Chairman or his designee. The Company shall provide the pilot with a written statement via certified mail or equivalent method with tracking capability, e.g., Federal Express, of its basis for questioning the pilot's fitness within seven (7) days of the date it first sends him to the Medical Examiner. The Company shall provide a list of no fewer than three (3) from which the pilot shall select one (1). The pilot will be furnished with a copy of the Medical Examiner's findings. C. If the pilot disagrees with the findings of the FAA-approved Medical Examiner in paragraph B, above, he may, at his option, have a review of his case in the following manner: 1. He may employ a qualified, FAA-approved Medical Examiner of his own choosing at his own expense for the purpose of conducting a medical examination. A copy of the findings of the pilot's Medical Examiner shall be furnished to the Company. 2. If the findings of the Company's Medical Examiner and the pilot's Medical Examiner disagree, the Company will, at the written request of the pilot, ask the two (2) examiners to agree upon a third, qualified and disinterested Medical Examiner, preferably a specialist, for the purpose of making further medical examination. 3. The case shall be settled on the basis of the findings of the disinterested Medical Examiner. The expense of employing the disinterested Medical Examiner shall be borne one-half by the pilot and one-half by the Company.Copies of the Medical Examiner's report shall be furnished to the Company and to the pilot. D. Any pilot held out of service by the Company for medical reasons who subsequently demonstrates that he has continuously met the physical standards established by this Section, shall be compensated for any loss of earnings and/or accrued benefits. E. A Captain who is unable to maintain his first class medical, but is able to maintain a second class physical, may, at his option, continue in the service of the Company as a First Officer and be paid at applicable rates. PHYSICAL STANDARDS. The physical standards required of a pilot will be the standards established by the FAA.
PHYSICAL STANDARDS. (1) A candidate shall meet the physical requirements prescribed by the Department of the Navy for appointment as Midshipman, USNR (including the Merchant Marine Reserve, USNR) and the requirements prescribed by the U.S. Coast Guard for original licensing as a third mate and third assistant engineer. All candidates shall have color perception and refrac- tive error within the limits prescribed by the Department of the Navy or by the U.S. Coast Guard, whichever are higher. (2) The requirement to meet these standards is a continuing one and shall apply through graduation from the Academy. Failure to meet the stand- ards while attending the Academy is grounds for, and may lead to disenrollment. Individuals who have completed at least two years of study and, as a result of an accident, illness or other cause (during official duty), fail to meet this requirement may be permitted to remain at the Academy at the discretion of, and under conditions set by, the Administrator. Those indi- viduals permitted to remain through graduation will agree to fulfill aspects of the service obligation which they are capable of, as deemed appropriate by the Administrator.
