Player Eligibility to be eligible to play in the league, you must be male and born in 1975 or earlier. A player found to have misrepresented his age in order to play will be suspended for the balance of the season in question AND the following season. PLAYER DRAFT/SUBS: teams will be created by way of an annual player draft, to be held as early as possible, preceding each season. Draft attendees will be the Board of Directors and/or their representatives. On their application, applicants will be asked to indicate whether their preference is to play as: a Regular; a Sub; taking the year off; or retiring from the League. All Regular applicants will be separated by (1) position: forward, defenseman or goalie and (2) ability: 1st, 2nd or 3rd line. The Board of Directors, based upon their knowledge of the ability of the Regular applicants, will put the names of the top 5 rated forwards “into the hat”. Each Captain or his Representative will draw a name. The process will be repeated to form each team’s three lines and goalie. Regarding Regular player status, favoritism will be shown to the Regular players who have previously played in the League unless that player missed an unacceptable number of games for reasons other than injury or his conduct is determined to be detrimental to the League. At the conclusion of the draft, every effort will be made to balance the teams, if necessary, and to honor requests made by players to play together. Not all requests to play together can be expected to be honored each season. If, after the draft, a Regular player requests that he be moved to Sub status, he will be considered a “Restricted Sub” and, as such, will be permitted to substitute only for his original team and assigned line. Subs will also be categorized by line, position and ability. A team that will be missing a Regular will replace that player with an “in-kind” Sub from the Sub List, or one from a lower line. For example: a second line C forward must be replaced by a second line C sub or a third line sub. A Sub can be added to the Sub List after the season begins. A Sub cannot play for the same team two games in a row, nor can he be scheduled in advance to play two games the same night. A Regular can play as a Sub as a last resort and can play a max of three games as a Sub each season.
