Post-Secondary Education. Description: Post-secondary education refers to learning that takes place after a person is no longer eligible for public school services. It can include adult schools, community colleges, universities, vocational and trade schools, and other types of organized learning.

Post-Secondary Education. 13.21.1 Each Maa-nulth First Nation Government may make laws in respect of post- secondary education provided by that Maa-nulth First Nation Government or its Maa-nulth First Nation Public Institution on the Maa-nulth First Nation Lands of the applicable Maa-nulth First Nation including: a. the establishment of post-secondary institutions and programs with the ability to grant degrees, diplomas or certificates; b. the development of the curriculum for post-secondary institutions established by that Maa-nulth First Nation Government or its Maa-nulth First Nation Public Institution; and c. the provision for and coordination of all adult education programs. 13.21.2 Federal Law or Provincial Law prevails to the extent of a Conflict with Maa-nulth First Nation Law under 13.21.1.
Post-Secondary Education. Employees who have attained or possess post-secondary education from an accredited institution approved by that employee’s elected official/department manager will qualify for supplemental compensation for the highest level of education completed. In order to qualify for the educational incentive, employees must provide their elected official/department manager copies of their diploma and/or transcripts showing completed hours. The amount to be afforded that employee shall be as follows: (A) Those employees who have obtained a certification from an accredited trade school or technical college, an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent number of credits from a four-year accredited institution approved by that employee’s elected official/department manager, shall qualify for an education incentive equivalent to one percent (1%) of the employee’s base salary. The number of credits required to complete an Associate’s degree will depend upon the state mandate and the program of study. Typically, this degree requires sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours. (B) Those employees who have obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university approved by that employee’s elected official/department manager shall qualify for an education incentive equivalent to two percent (2%) of the employee’s base salary. (C) Those employees who have obtained a Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MS), or higher-level degree from an accredited college or university approved by that employee’s elected official/department manager shall qualify for an education incentive equivalent to three percent (3%) of the employee’s base salary.
Post-Secondary Education. The parties agree that they desire to see the children attend college, a university, vocational school or other post-secondary education. The parties agree they will cooperate in the selection of secondary education. The school based on the children's capabilities, opportunities, the children's desires and the parents' income and assets and respective financial ability to pay at that time. The children shall be required to use their best efforts to apply for grants, loans and scholarships to which they may qualify. The balance of the expenses associated with the post-secondary education, including the cost of tuition, room and board, SAT preparation courses, PSAT and SAT testing fees, application fees, miscellaneous fees and transportation to and from home at the beginning and end of the school year and for holidays shall be shared by the parties in proportion to their income and assets at that time. The parties’ respective contributions for the children’s post-secondary education shall be allocated after application of any financial aid received by the children and after application of funds held by the parties for the benefit of the children including but not limited to savings bonds, custodial accounts and similar savings vehicles for the children. Discussions regarding a child’s college choice shall begin no later than the spring semester of their Junior year in High School. The issue of the amount of child support due from either parent for a child who is attending a post secondary institution, shall be evaluated and determined at the time.

Related to Post-Secondary Education

  • Continuing Education The Hospital and the Union recognize that continuing education is important for all employees and that they have shared interests and responsibilities in ensuring equitable access to it.

  • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies. The Authorizer is the LEA for purposes of ensuring compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and all other federal and state laws and regulations concerning accommodation of and education of students with disabilities.

  • Resident Educator A Resident Educator is a teacher employed under a resident educator license.

  • General Education University Program Requirements All MTA applicable courses require a grade “C” or higher

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.

  • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).

  • Resident Educator Program The four-year program is designed to provide newly licensed Ohio educators quality mentoring and guidance. Successful completion of the residency program is required to advance to a five-year professional educator license.
