Potholing. The quantity, location and depth of potholes will be determined during the design phase. The potholing sub-consultant will be immediately contracted for disposal of hazardous soils associated with the 3 borings near the I-8 crossing. The Consultant shall obtain all necessary encroachment permits for subsurface investigations.
Potholing. We will prepare recommendations and perform potholing, as necessary, to verify the depths and locations of critical utilities and record the information on cut sheets for use during design. We will incorporate this information into our design and show locations and information on the final set of construction documents. We have included a pothole budget for approximately eight (8) locations. This may change once the alignments have been selected and we have a clear understanding of the precise location of the proposed facilities.
Potholing. Any potholing authorized by this License shall be subject to the direction of City’s Construction Inspector. Potholing using the soft dig method (vacuum soil extraction system) is preferred. If Licensee wishes to use any other mechanical method such as digging with a backhoe, License must submit a written request to the SFPUC at least five (5) business days prior to commencing such work and obtain the SFPUC’s prior written consent. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the last two feet (2’) above the top of the pipe must be dug manually, without the use of any machines.
Potholing. 4.1 The Consultant shall excavate sufficient potholes to verify locations and elevations at utility crossings and existing piping to be removed or replaced in the Project. These potholes may be made using small diameter vacuum-type equipment, if appropriate.
4.1.1 The Consultant shall obtain authorization from The City’s Project Manager prior to excavating additional potholes.
4.1.2 The Consultant shall notify the City immediately of any damage caused to the pipe during potholing activities.
4.1.3 The Consultant shall provide all services related to the excavation and backfilling of potholes. Pothole excavations shall be in compliance with CAL-OSHA and City safety requirements, and any excavations left open shall be covered with steel plates. The Consultant and excavation contractor shall be responsible for restoration and clean-up of all work sites.
4.1.4 All utility excavations shall be tied to the horizontal and vertical control information provided by the City’s survey for this project. A summary shall be provided to include:
Potholing. Prior to commencement of any tree replacement or xxxxx grinding, Contractor shall physically locate, verifying horizontal and vertical locations, and map existing underground facilities within the work area that are marked by Underground Service Alert (USA) or shown on the drawings. Contractor shall protect all such facilities from damage due to construction activities for the duration of the project. Contractor shall deliver a plan with the location of each potholed utility to the Engineer. Repair of damage to such facilities shall be at the Contractor's expense and shall be considered as integral to this item of work. Contractor shall be responsible for following all applicable rules and regulations concerning work in the vicinity of underground and/or overhead utilities. The cost for potholing shall be included in the unit prices bid for the various contract items, and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor.
Potholing. Desired information outlined below shall be provided in table format to the District upon completion of potholing work.
Potholing. Identify location to pothole to confirm existing facility elevations, and document potholes with photos and survey information. Coordinate with the CMGC on requested location and findings.
Potholing. With the base map, KWC will prepare a pothole exhibit identifying all locations where potholing of existing utilities is proposed. Most pothole locations will be for the gravity sewer and force main designs and will be identified by Xxxxxx Xxxx who will also oversee preparation of the pothole exhibit. Other key team members will review the pothole exhibit to ensure that all required pothole locations are identified. If desired, the completed pothole exhibit can also be provided to the city for review prior to proceeding. Once the DocuSign Envelope ID: C51CA1F9-52D7-4F4E-BF52-145AC5FABBCF pothole exhibit is prepared and deemed complete, Xxx Xxxxxxxxx with coordinate with the survey crew and Xxxxxxxx to conduct the field potholing. All pothole locations will be surveyed to ensure the data is accurately reflected on the design plans.
Potholing. RBF will use the services of Subtornics Corp. to conduct potholing to determine dry and wet utility crossing that may impact the design of the storm drain profile. The budget included in the fee section is a budget allowance; actual fee will be based upon the potholes required for the project which will be approved by the City prior to commence of work.
