Probation Period Defined. (a) When a new Employee is hired, such Employee shall be considered to be on probation for the first seven hundred twenty (720) consecutive straight- time hours of actual work, inclusive of paid rest periods but exclusive of unpaid meal periods as well as any overtime and any “deemed” work time or any other time off work, under this Agreement, all of which must be completed within three-hundred-sixty-five (365) consecutive calendar days, calculated from and including each such Employee’s date of commencement of work after their latest date of hire or engagement as a Regular Employee by the Employer. The probationary period of Student Employees shall be governed by Clause 14.06 of this Agreement. (b) The probation period may be extended by mutual agreement in writing by and between the Employer and the Union.
