Qualifications for Appointment as Teacher
Qualifications for Appointment. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor normally requires the following qualifications:
(a) an earned doctoral degree, the standard terminal academic credential for the discipline, or evidence of appropriate professional achievement;
(b) evidence of effective teaching; and
(c) a record of substantial scholarly, professional or artistic achievement within the candidate's discipline.
Qualifications for Appointment. Appointment at the rank of Teaching Professor normally requires:
(a) a Master’s degree or a higher qualification or appropriate professional achievement in the discipline;
(b) a record or outstanding achievement in teaching; and
Qualifications for Appointment. 33.1 Except where the Employer determines that special circumstances exist in relation to a particular person which warrant that person’s appointment with a lesser qualification or a shorter duration of vocational experience, the minimum qualifications for appointment to positions are as follows:
33.1.1 Education Officer - appropriate Degree or Diploma at AQF levels 5-8 or Equivalent and appropriate vocational and or industrial experience.
33.1.2 Teacher - appropriate technical or professional qualifications plus from two to five years, as appropriate, vocational and or industrial experience.
33.1.3 Counsellor - appropriate Degree from a Tertiary Institution and at least three years study in psychology or other such study as the Employer deems appropriate, plus two years appropriate vocational experience.
33.1.4 Head Teacher Band 3 - To be considered for appointment to an Head Teacher Band 3 position the applicant must possess:
(i) Appropriate technical or professional qualifications and vocational/industrial experience as determined necessary by TAFE NSW and as a minimum complying with the relevant regulatory requirements;
(ii) an educational qualification at the Diploma level or above, and demonstrate continued professional and leadership development; and
(iii) Post graduate qualification relating to:
(a) Industry or technical (e.g. Diploma Building & Construction); or
(b) Educational Specialisation – assessment & evaluation; higher education; technology; flexible learning; or

Qualifications for Appointment. Meet all institutional, departmental, and specialty eligibility requirements for their respective training program; • Successfully pass USMLE Steps 1 and 2 (CK and CS) or equivalent examinations (COMLEX- USA) and submit a copy of the results to his/her Program Director and GME before beginning training; • Successfully pass USMLE Step 3 or equivalent examinations if starting as a PGY-3 or higher and submit a copy of the results to his/her Program Director and GME before beginning training; • Meet all federal regulations for work authorization including providing adequate documentation for completion of the I-9 and eVerify. Residents must have a valid social security number prior to beginning training. Residents on employment visas are responsible for meeting all guidelines for lawful entry and continued stay in the United States. Failure to maintain the legal right to work in the United States will result in immediate termination of employment; • Meet all guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners for obtaining authorization to participate in the training program (Competency Information Form); • Not be on any HHS/Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) list or Excluded Parties List System (EPLS) of individuals excluded from federal healthcare programs; • Pass a criminal background check (see GME Policy #130); • Pass a pre-employment drug test (see GME Policy #660); • Provide a final transcript (denoting award of the MD/DO degree conferred) sent directly from the trainee’s medical school to the GME Office. An ECFMG certificate will be accepted for international medical school graduates; • Documentation from a licensed physician in the United States that the resident is physically and mentally able to begin a residency/fellowship, and; can perform the essential job functions of the applicable residency program with or without an accommodation; • Documentation of all appropriate immunizations and completed respiratory fit test (see GME Policy #360, #361, and #362); • Obtain a national provider number (NPI) and provide it to the GME Office; • Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification prior to or within 30 days of employment and provide copy to GME Office. Pediatric and pediatric subspecialty residents/fellows must obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; and • Register with PECOS, the Controlled Substance Monitoring Database (CSMD), and the Arkansas, Mississippi and TN Medicaid programs.
Qualifications for Appointment. The District recognizes that it is generally of advantage to the District to fill vacancies whenever practicable by the promotion of qualified employees rather than by appointment of other persons. Other qualities being equal, the District will give selection preference in filling vacancies through promotion of qualified employees.
Qualifications for Appointment. The resident must meet all eligibility requirements for acceptance into an ACGME accredited and/or CODA accredited residency; meet federal guidelines for appointment to the University (I-9 documentation and a favorable report from the Office of Inspector General) and State of Tennessee Medical Board guidelines for obtaining an exemption, a training license or an unrestricted license for participation in a training program; pass a criminal background check and mandatory drug screening; and obtain a national provider information (NPI) number and provide to GMDE Office. Register with the Controlled Substance Monitoring Database (CSMD).
Qualifications for Appointment. Appointment at the rank of Senior Instructor normally requires:
(a) a Master's degree or a higher qualification, or appropriate professional achievement in the discipline; and
(b) substantial teaching experience at a university or college.
