Flexible Learning. Students may be eligible for an independent study period when they have successfully acquired a school-based traineeship or apprenticeship, have enrolled in further education external to the school, enrolled in a distance education subject and have demonstrated commitment to this program for a minimum of one term. - AARA (Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments) may be provided in consultation with Heads of Department, Guidance Officers and the Deputy Principal. - The opportunity to be provided with an independent study period will be decided by the Deputy Principal for the Senior School on completion of the Application for Independent Study form by the student and parent, and then a meeting to discuss. - Students with independent study will spend these lessons in the Independent Learning Centre in Q Block. Students will not be permitted to study off campus during these lessons. - Failure to work diligently during Independent Study Lessons may result in the removal of the study period from the student’s timetable and a return to original classes and / or alternate supervision arrangements and possibly begin the process for Cancellation of Enrolment. - Students who require support or adjustment to their study program as a result of personal circumstances, will only be permitted to reduce their subject load after alternative support options are considered. The Guidance Officer along with other school staff will develop a support plan that ensures the student is appropriately supported. A certificate or letter from a medical practitioner will be taken into consideration but is not automatically grounds for a student to reduce their course load. Resource requirements / Subject Fees - Some subjects have fees to cover the cost of enrolment with an external provider or for materials used by students in class work in order to provide meaningful learning experiences. - Students / families will be expected to cover the cost of participation in their academic pathway, before they will be allowed to contribute funds towards extra-curricular programs or functions such as sporting competitions, non-curriculum excursions / camps, the senior formal or purchase of the senior jersey. - Financial support is available through payment plans in consultation with the Business Manager. Uniform - Students are to present themselves in a way that demonstrates pride in themselves and their school by wearing the correct uniform at all times in the way that it was designed to be...

Flexible Learning. As part of their joint mission to provide all segments of the community with quality instructional programs, the UFF/BCC and the College affirm their commitment to exploring jointly the exciting, rapidly changing field of Flexible Learning (Distance Education (DE), E-learning i.e., remote instructional delivery systems, telecommunicated learning services, on-line computerized instruction). In this endeavor, both parties aspire to provide: (i) the community with programs which increase access to educational services; (ii) students with intellectually stimulating courses which are of a standard commensurate with those taught via the more traditional delivery modes; and (iii) interested College Faculty with opportunities to develop programs/courses and delivery systems. In addition, the College and the UFF/BCC agree to work jointly to protect the integrity of BCC programs and course offerings. The college undertakes to avoid overburdening Faculty teaching Flexible Learning Courses by carefully controlling class size, number of sites, on-line student consultation contact hours, and the technological complexity of the delivery system.
Flexible Learning. Effective July 1, 2023, when an in-person or online course is delivered in a flexible learning modality (as defined by the Medicine Hat College calendar) for the first time by a faculty member, that faculty member delivering the course shall be provided twelve (12) hours of additional workload.

  • E-LEARNING a) E-Learning is defined as a method of credit course delivery that relies on communication between students and teachers through the internet or any other digital platform and does not require students to be face-to-face with each other or with their teacher. Online learning shall have the same meaning as E-Learning.

  • Flexible Spending The Board shall make flexible spending accounts available to employees in the bargaining unit.

  • Flexible Spending Account The parties agree that the State shall have the right to use State Employee Health Plan funds to cover the administrative costs of operating the medical and dependent care flexible spending account programs.

  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Beginning January 1, 1993, an employee may designate an amount per year to be placed into the employee’s Flexible Spending Account (as defined in Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code as amended from time to time). The amounts in the account may be used to reimburse the employee for uncovered medical expenses. Amounts placed in the account are not subject to federal, state and Social Security (FICA) taxes. Reports of earnings to MTRFA and pension deductions will be based on gross earnings.

  • Flexible Spending Accounts Employees in the unit shall have access to the County’s flexible spending account program, which provides employees with the options of dependent care assistance benefits with a calendar year maximum of $5,000, and medical expense reimbursement benefits with a calendar year maximum of $2,400. The County shall maintain this plan in compliance with IRC §125. Employee premiums for flexible spending account benefits shall be deducted on a pre-tax basis from employee pay.

  • Flexible Scheduling All posts experience a higher day-time volume than occurs during the night hours and the Parties agree to a flexible scheduling as outlined below to be compatible with the needs of the community served and availability of on-call staff and the members of the post’s full-time staff.

  • Medical Flexible Spending Arrangement A. During January 2020 and again in January 2021, the Employer will make available two hundred fifty dollars ($250) in a medical flexible spending arrangement (FSA) account for each bargaining unit member represented by a Union in the Coalition described in RCW 41.80.020(3), who meets the criteria in Subsection 28.7(B) below.
