Rejection Following Promotion. Any employee rejected during the probationary period following a promotional appointment shall be reinstated to the position from which he/she was promoted unless charges are filed and he/she is discharged in the manner provided in Section 21 (Rules of Appeal to Hearing Officer) for positions in the competitive services.

Rejection Following Promotion. Any employee rejected during the probationary period following a promotional appointment or at the conclusion of the probationary period by reason of failure of the appointing power to file a statement that his services have been satisfactory, or at the discretion of the employee, shall be reinstated to the position from which he was promoted unless charges are filed and he is discharged in the manner provided in the Personnel Ordinance and the rules for positions in the classified service. Employees in the project service must have been hired through a competitive process in order to transfer or demote into positions in the competitive service. An employee promoted from a designated, entry-level trainee position in a flexibly allocated class shall not be restored to the position from which promoted. Employees promoted from the project service to the competitive service shall be restored to the position from which promoted only if at that time they meet all special requirements of the project service position.
