Replacement Coverage. If this Contract replaces prior Group coverage within sixty (60) days of the date of termination of prior coverage, BCI will immediately cover all employees and dependents validly covered under the prior coverage at the date of termination who meet BCI’s eligibility requirements and who would otherwise be eligible for coverage under this Contract, regardless of any exclusions or limitations relating to active employment or nonconfinement.

Replacement Coverage. In the event an Employee is unable to meet employment obligations for reasons covered under this Article, the Employee will notify the appropriate immediate supervisor or department designee as promptly as possible so that arrangements for responsibility of the Employer to find a temporary replacement. In no case will the Employee be required to pay for the replacement work or coverage.
Replacement Coverage. Effective 2014 June 16: The above Article 14.11 re Shift Preference is not applicable to scheduling replacement coverage to employees who advise the Employer they are unable to attend their scheduled shift within eight (8) working hours of the start of their scheduled shift. For the purpose of this Clause, working hours shall mean hours during which the employee’s working unit is operating.

Replacement Coverage. A Covered Person may, under certain circumstances, as specified below, apply for and obtain replacement coverage, subject to the replacement coverage’s applicable terms and conditions. The replacement coverage will be that which is offered by Claim Administrator, or, if Covered Person does not reside in Claim Administrator’s service area, by the Host Blue(s) whose service area covers the geographic area in which the Covered Person resides. The circumstances mentioned above may arise from involuntary termination of Covered Person’s health coverage sponsored by Employer but solely as a result of a reduction in force, plan/office closing(s) or group health plan termination (in whole or in part), or when a Covered Person approaches the age of Medicare eligibility. If the Covered Person does not reside in Claim Administrator’s service area, Claim Administrator may facilitate a Covered Person’s right to apply for and obtain such replacement coverage, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, from the Host Blue in which the Covered Person resides. To do this, Claim Administrator or the Host Blue may communicate directly with the Covered Persons to provide resources and replacement coverage options available to them. Claim Administrator’s provision of information about replacement coverage is not part of the Services provided to Employer under the Agreement, and neither Employer nor the Plan has any responsibility for replacement coverage information provided by Claim Administrator in accordance with this Section 8. SECTION 1: INTER-PLAN ARRANGEMENT DEFINITIONS
Replacement Coverage. In the event a Graduate Assistant is unable to meet employment obligations for reasons covered under this Article, the Graduate Assistant will notify the appropriate immediate supervisor (or department or unit designee) as promptly as possible, and in a timely manner provide supporting documentation as requested by the Employer, so that arrangements for the absence can be made by CMU. In addition, a Graduate Assistant will make reasonable efforts to assist in arrangements for another to meet her or his employment obligations. It is the responsibility of the University to find a replacement.

When an absence occurs within a Board building the following replacement coverage will be initiated, to the best of the Board’s ability and subject to the Board not incurring any additional overtime costs: Elementary Schools (a) In Schools where there is one (1) Assistant Caretaker – replacement coverage will occur on the same day of absence. (b) In Schools where there are two to five Assistant Caretakers – no replacement coverage will occur on the 1st day of absence. From the 2nd to the 7th day of absence, fifty per cent (50%) of the regularly scheduled hours of an Assistant Caretaker will be replaced. Full replacement coverage will occur on the 8th and subsequent day of absence. (c) No replacement coverage will occur on the 1st day of absence for Caretakers. From the 2nd to the 7th day of absence, fifty per cent (50%) of the regularly scheduled hours of an absent Caretaker will be replaced. Full replacement coverage will occur on the 8th and subsequent day of absence. (d) Replacement coverage will occur on the same day of absence for the position of Head Caretaker whether it is a full-shift or a partial shift. (e) In Schools where there is a Board approved Day Care, replacement coverage will be initiated at fifty per cent (50%) for the first seven (7) days of absence of the regularly scheduled hours of the employee who is responsible for cleaning the day care. Full replacement coverage will occur on the 8th and subsequent day of absence. Secondary Schools (a) Subject to section #4 below, in secondary schools replacement coverage shall occur within the school. (b) If there are more than two (2) employees absent at the same time in a secondary school, replacement coverage will be initiated where in the opinion of the Area Supervisor it best meets the needs of the building. (c) For Caretakers and Assistant Caretakers, no replacement coverage will occur on the 1st day of absence. From the 2nd to the 7th day of absence, fifty per cent (50%) of the regularly scheduled hours of an Assistant Caretaker or Caretaker will be replaced. Full replacement coverage will occur on the 8th and subsequent day of absence. (d) Replacement coverage for the Head Caretaker(s), whether it is a full-shift or a partial shift, shall occur firstly within the school among the employees who are regularly assigned and qualified.
